my computer froze, and when i tried to reboot it, it got to the green suse screen proceeded normally, and then when it went forward, i got an error message that said could not start "kdeinit4. check your installation"
tried to fix it using the protocal i found
here
but sitll have the same problems with the error message.
I hadn't plugged in my computer for about 5 months, because I had a laptop, but the laptop is on it's last legs, but it was working pretty well for the last couple of days.

I am getting the following error when trying to save in .doc format in Microsoft Word 2011 for Mac (v. 14.2.0): "the save failed due to out of memory or disk space". I can open .docs, but can only save as .docx. This happens with brand new documents and old ones.

My high school transcripts have major errors in them and no one in the school system wants to help me fix them! I'm pretty sure I had more than a 0.0 GPA and I know wasn't on the girls' tennis team! Allshare Error Message filter: We have recently purchased a Samsung Smart Blu-Ray Player. The big attraction for us was that it would enable us to play shows downloaded from the Internet via the Allshare program. However, after I downloaded Allshare and tried to run it, I received the following error: "The Allshare shared server has shut down. It will restart." I would close the message, and it would come back again and again.

I recently had to reinstall Windows (XP) on my PC to kill some malware. Subsequently, I reinstalled Sony Vegas Movie Studio 9, which I've been using for the last couple of years on this machine. I have a logo in both .ai and .eps formats. It looks mostly right when placed into a comp, but part of it has a solid white background behind it.
However, when I directly open either of the files in Illustrator, a large portion of the image is missing. It seems like the portion that's missing may well be the section with the white background.

How can I clear a recalcitrant cartridge jam on an HP C4580 printer? I've gone through the steps on the printer and the further support on the
HP website to no avail. I still have the error message flashing on the printer, and it will not print anything, not even the self-test report. I need a working printer, and this is driving me crazy! Any suggestions? Help?

I'm using Navicat Lite to connect to my Oracle research database (Mac OSX). Much of my data is in IPA (International Phonetic Alphabet). These are unicode symbols. Is there a way to display the IPA/Unicode in Navicat? Or some other GUI? Or is there some addon/code/plugin/whatever that will show me the symbols?

A colleague is finding that a page on a server that includes a SWF can load smoothly and be viewed in its entirety, but it generates a JavaScript error message whenever that page is unloaded, but only in IE7 and IE8. (Line 1, Char 1, "Access is denied", Code 0, URL=SWF file name). Firefox 3.6 and IE6 have no problems at all. For some reason, the page has been designed to load the SWF directly into an iframe's src attribute instead of using the usual OBJECT and EMBED tags and associated parameters within a separate HTML page. Is this unloading problem simply IE7 and IE8 being extra-vigilant about security with non-standard code?

Is my AVG Resident Shield warning me of something important, or is AVG itself the problem? I've been running AVG on my computer since I bought it (in August). In the last two hours, every time I open a new program, Resident Shield pops up and tells me "the file could not be scanned, probably due to invalid file structure". The programs I'm opening are not new (games I've downloaded weeks ago, Google Chrome) and my computer is otherwise not acting wonky. What's going on?

iTunes broke my calendar. I can no longer sync Outlook to my iPod Touch because "sync server failed to sync." I can't find an answer to this on iTunes help although I do see that others have had this problem. Any suggestions? I've always done this over a USB cable. Nothing has changed except the calendar won't sync anymore. My iTunes software is up to date. I think Notes and Contacts are syncing -- though I just realized I haven't really tested that. I don't sync music in this operation, I do that from a different machine with different settings.
