Classy, non-amateur erotic literature?

Having recently discovered Anais Nin's Delta of Venus and Little Birds, I'm looking for classy, somewhat highbrow, non-amateur, published erotic literature along the same lines. I appreciate the languid, lingering, sensual atmosphere of the stories, and that they provoke thought about bedroom politics.

I tried looking on my own, but it seems I have unearthed a whole new underworld of fiction and the selection is overwhelming! There seems to be a lot of amateur erotic stories designed to quickly and deliberately assist the reader in getting off, sorted by taboo subject, and usually told in crude language. I do not wish to get off on these stories. I'm also not interested in romance novels, fan fiction, or deceptively highbrow-sounding florid prose featuring non-humans. (NOTE: I searched previous AskMe questions about erotica, but the askers' tastes differ from mine.)

I'd like to read more stories like Anais Nin's. Bonus points if they're literary and thought-provoking. Extra bonus points of they're classic, and published, as I will likely be reading them in waiting areas or on the train. Extra extra bonus points if they outdo Nin.

Recommendations for erotica I'm interested in reading erotic novels but I need a bit of guidance. Virgin Books are the biggest erotica publisher in the UK and I've dipped into a few of their titles at random but they've been uniformly awful. Google has not been my friend either because there is a lot of chaff out there. So I am looking for (ideally) a good reviews/recommendation site or (failing that) individual recommendations for novels, authors or publishers.

I'm a straight male interested in the porn rather than romance end of the spectrum and when I say novels I mean actual printed books. Bonus points for science fiction or fantasy recommendations (although I am not after a million recommendations for Jacqueline Carey).

Erotic films and literature of the BDSM variety? Particular preferences inside. I have read this question, but I'm looking for slightly different types of films. Also, literature.

I'm interested in dominance and submission, some sadism and masochism, bondage, and intense psychological relationships. Foreign language films are good (as long as there are subtitles), and I'm not interested in plain porn. I'd like to hear about artistic films with interesting camera angles, good acting and plotting, and yes, sex too. I'm particularly interested in sexual awakening films. One movie I recently watched and enjoyed was Secret Things. (Choses Secretes)

I'd like to read some books with the same stipulations: They must be well-written and full-bodied, exploring the topics listed above. I enjoyed The Story of O, but am not necessarily looking for books that reduce everything to a master/slave dynamic.

Bonus points for info on how to purchase/view your recommendations. (Available on Netflix, or Amazon, or to purchase from a particular website you like, etc. With reference to books, particular editions such as those published by Grove Press are also welcome.)

Me and my girlfriend got a total kick out of watching The Secretary together. If you know what I mean :) What other films should we watch together? IMDB recommends some foreign language films which I know nothing about. I think we'd prefer them in English, with a decent plot.

I don't think it was the BDSM element that we liked, but I think the fact that it's a slight taboo made it more interesting, along with the slow burning sexual anticipation.

So what does the hive mind suggest to get us in the mood?

Trying to track down a British film (I think) that had an erotic scene in a public bathroom. I watched bits of this movie in the early 90s. I've never been able to get the images out of my head, although I've long forgotten the name of the film. The scenes I remember involve a man and a woman flirting with each other in a restaurant, him stroking her leg under the table, followed by a hot scene in a bathroom stall. The man was attractive in a scruffy way, kind of like Robert Carlyle.

Recommendations/sources for good erotic writing? My girlfriend recently revealed to me that she is/used to be into erotic stories, and I'd like to learn more about this topic, to liven up and deepen our sex life. Help me find some interesting erotica and porn...(suprisingly NSFW) I came across this site today which I enjoyed immensely (no not in that way but...it was quite nice to look at) Im wondering if there are similar sites which are a bit more....I dunno, highbrow? More for the porn connisoiur.

Where to process nude photos? My partner and I have recently decided to do some nude photos of one another. We'd like to use an actual film camera instead of digital, but fear that pervs at the processing lab might steal copies for themselves. Is this stupid paranoia, or is it justified? If it is a legit concern, are there certain processing/developing labs that would be more trustworthy than others?

Neither my boyfriend nor I have a particularly high libido, and we make love once every few weeks or so. We've discovered, though, that we really enjoy watching good movies that are also....well....hot. And I do mean good films -- not porn -- that also are sexual. Are there any good, non-cheesy erotic adult games? I'd like to find some games that would be good for a group of two or three couples who are open-minded and sex-positive. I'm thinking games along the lines of Truth or Dare, the Love Dice, and so on. We have tried a few of these games, and most of them tend to be pretty lame. Questions about French maids... What's the origin of this phrase and concept? I assume at one point they were simply young household servants from France, but at what point did the concept evolve into such an erotic icon? Did French maids actually wear this kind of thing? Is the costume related somehow to the legendary French decadence? I found several historical references to "French maids" noodling around Google, but none of them explain the history of this concept. Here's a reference to a French maid during the reign of Charles II [1630-85], for example.
