I'm looking to buy a laptop that meets a few simple requirements. Does this describe your machine?
- Customizable before purchase -- it's essential to me that the factory install e.g. the SSD and the CPU that I specify
- 17" screen
- Trackpad is responsive, ergonomic, satisfying to use
- "Home", "End", "PgDn", "PgUp" and "Delete" keys are all clustered together, not strung out in a row
- High-end
- Not made by HP

Due to long-standing back/shoulder/neck pain, I received an Aeron chair at work a couple of months ago. It has helped in one way (namely, the armrests can be adjusted lower than any other chair I've had, which has helped my shoulders) but otherwise has
completely aggravated my lower and mid-back pain. Help me figure out a hack so that I can actually sit at my desk for longer than 10 minutes at a time without going nuts.

I have pain in my neck/shoulder. It's partially from computer use but becomes most intense when I draw. I need advice on better ergonomic setups as well as safe exercises I could do to strengthen those muscles, or anything else I might do to reduce this sort of pain.

Have you ever tried one of these:
#1 or
#2. Did you like it? Hate it? And if so, why? I can't afford a good ergonomic snow shovel and thought one of these might do in a pinch. Is there another model you liked better? Did it matter if the handle was perpendicular to the shaft like #1 or parallel like #2?

I need to find an ergonomic solution to allow me to work for 8+ hours a day writing code on my laptop. My options are extremely limited because of space - I essentially am stuck siting on the floor or on a couch. A desk + office chair would be nice but it isn't in the cards, neither is a table. Imagine a prison cell with carpet and you'll understand.

I saw a website or read an article about an ergonomic "cubicle" that was actually a very large, balanced sphere. The person would lie down inside the sphere in a perfectly supporting "chair" (somewhat like a first-class recliner), facing upwards; the keyboard was at lap level, and the monitor hung from the top of the sphere. Now I can't find it. Help?

I have elderly relatives who no longer can turn or twist the normal switch on a table lamp or touchier lamp. I am looking for an easy ergonomic solution that will allow them to be able to simply turn lamps on and off.
I remember recently seeing a replacement switch knob that was designed with 3 flat blades that protruded from the center of the knob; somewhat like the shape of a modern windmill blades.
I would appreciate any and all ideas and hints.
