Got diagnosed with strep on Monday. Developed a terrible earache on Tuesday, which let up when I took some Advil, but then it plugged. It's ringing VERY loudly, clogged, and I can barely hear out of it. Help! What do I do? [more inside]

I am looking for an ENT doctor (Ear, Nose, and Throat doc; otolaryngologist) in Baltimore, preferably one who is a participating provider in United Healthcare (and more specifically, The Empire Plan for New York State Employees). [more inside]
I've had what I thought was an enlarged lymph node in my neck for ~2 years, and am finally getting medical attention for it. I recently had a CT scan, and today the doctor's office called to request an additional biopsy w/ ultrasound. Biopsy and follow-up appts. aren't until the end of the month. I know that YANMD and TINMA, but could the hivemind help me to better understand what's going on so that I can be a more informed patient? [more inside]
Last week I managed to have an attack of vertigo at work which resulted in me collapsing, throwing up all over the floor, getting stretchered out of the office, into an ambulance, into the ER, an overnight hospital stay and a diagnosis of Vestibular Neuritis. Fun times. The doctors there have been telling me that my symptoms will clear up soon, but the more I talk to people, the more this sounds dubious, and I very much want to see an ENT. [more inside]
Hello, I am a long time allergy and asthma sufferer in Chicago. Recently this summer, I have been experiencing major headaches as the weather shifts dramatically. I have an ENT who has been working with me closely, but this is going beyond their area of expertise, as my sinuses, Eustachian, and nasal passages are clear. He thinks the problem/swelling is originating from above my sinus passages. (Sorry for TMI.) [more inside]
I noticed red bumps on the roof of my mouth and one on each side of my throat I took a video of it here http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=arPZ5kERdVQ what is the cause of it?
I need help finding an ENT physician in the NYC area. I continue getting ear infections and it's about time I see a specialist instead of my primary care physician. I don't have insurance and currently working a part-time, so if you can recommend me one that won't charge me over $200 for a first time visit I would greatly appreciate it.
Before surgery, my insurance company said I wouldn't have to pay. After surgery, that's changed. What now?
Before having surgery, I was told by my insurance company that my deductible had been reached, and that there was nothing for me to pay. After surgery, they amended that, telling me that in fact my deductible had not been filled at all for the present period, and I *would* have to pay. Am I just screwed here? [more inside]
My odd, chronic jaw & ear symptoms are growing ever more uncomfortable and crazy-making. The specialists I've seen are stumped. I'm hoping the AskMe-verse might have heard of this, or can offer some suggestions, advice, or support. [more inside]
I've been prescribed a blood-pressure medication by a doctor that I don't trust. I'm concerned about taking it for reasons that might be irrational. In the meantime, I need to deal with my blood pressure *somehow* to have surgery. I need someone's reassurance and knowledge. [more inside]
ENT Filter: Should I be concerned about not being able to sneeze? (I know YANMD!) [more inside]
What, if anything, is wrong with my throat and how, if at all, can I treat it? [more inside]
You are not a doctor, but you can hopefully help me determine which kind I need to go to. [more inside]
ENT-filter: Question about following my doctor's too vague instructions about treating a clogged up ear tube (in an adult ear that had a myringotomy + ear tube inserted three weeks ago) with hydrogen peroxide. I would especially like to hear from doctors and/or people who have had myringotomies and/or tubes. [more inside]
Where in NYC can I get my ears suction-cleaned as in this [rather icky] Youtube video? [more inside]
Can you recommend a good ENT doctor in Seattle, preferably one who takes Uniform Medical? [more inside]
Ear wax-filter: I'm looking for some advice and/or tips about dealing with earwax blockage in one ear (resulting in muffled hearing) and the proper usage of at-home irrigation systems. [more inside]
Why do I have to clear my throat all of the time? When I'm speaking, my voice often becomes croaky to the point where I can't speak normally without sounding like Tom Waits on his deathbed. This is normally resolved by me clearing my throat rather audibly (ahem-uh-huh-hem!), after which I can speak fine again. I might have to do this five or six times in an hour long presentation. I'm not spitting out or swallowing phlegm, my voice is just unusably scratchy until I clear my throat. Occassionally, clearing my throat does nothing, and I'm left with a voice that can barely speak. This happens with my normal conversations, too, not just presentations. [more inside]
YANMD filter. I have had an earache for...a long time. I need a super low cost ENT type visit in the miami/fort lauderdale area. [more inside]
What's the best way to find doctors in NYC? [more inside]
I have ear sinus pressure, muffled hearing, and general discomfort in one of my ears. Help me find some relief until my doctor's appointment. [more inside]
I am a classic example of poorly-designed nose and throat, and I want to fix it. But my ENT doesn't have any advice and I don't know what's going to do the trick. [more inside]
What is the name of that antique metal disc that doctors used to wear on their foreheads? AnitanitaBoyfriend just shared that doctors used to use it to hear heartbeats by pressing the disc against the chest. But he doesn't know the name. My googlefu is not strong enough, so I turn to the collective wisdom of the group..... Thanks Guys!
Something is really wrong with my ear - It feels very clogged, very stuffed, and I can't hear out of it well at all - It isn't wax, after a week of trying over the counter wax removal stuff, I went to a Doc who confirmed that my ears were clean and not waxy - so it must be stuffed up on the other side, and she gave me some prescription decongestant. She said it would clear in 24 hours or so - That was Saturday. It's very unpleasant, and with it not going away, it's actually really scary - and with my work hours, I can't get back to the doc until the weekend at the earliest. Anyone have thoughts, suggestions, anything? I'm really quite desperate at this point.
