Should I provide a W-2 to a potential new employer? A job offer was made to me pending a background check. The background check is delayed because my current employer has not replied to the new employer(I do not know why). I was given the option to verify employment using a W-2 form. Do I want to give all of this information to the new employer? I didn't lie about salary but never gave a direct amount. The new job is a 15% increase and I feel like I should not make that obvious to the new employer. If I never stated or lied about a my current salary am I worried about this for no reason? Is 15% going to be perfectly acceptable to them if I am the right candidate?
EmployerFilter. My soon-to-be wife is around four months pregnant. Our due date is the first week of July, which at that time will be employed with her current employer for eleven months time. She currently is covered under their group insurance. Today they informed her that they will give her seven (unpaid) days of maternity leave. They informed her they will be terminating her if she takes anything longer off. To me this sounds rotten, possibly illegal. We are the state of Florida, USA. Can they really fire her for taking more than a week of maternity leave?
Seriously, they told me my check was in the mail.... and I believed them. How do I protect myself during an employer's bankruptcy?

Can an employer fire you, or threaten to fire you or any other employee, for accessing the Wikileaks site from a personal (non-employer) computer? Employer uses email to distribute work schedules, all memos and notices. Most staff, me included, do not have company email accounts and take time to read and print emails at home off the clock. Supervisor emails a lot, sometimes 10-15 emails at a time, often several days a week. The work schedules come color coded, for her convenience, not mine and to print properly I need to buy color ink which otherwise I do not want or need. Question: is it proper for employer to require employees to use unpaid time to read, and have to pay out of pocket to maintain internet service, printer and paper and ink to receive the schedule, memos and administration information? If not, what can should one do about it?

My dept is becoming part of the National Division (home office in Georgia) rather than the Regional Division (where I now work at Regional Division Home Office in PA). I am not physically moving anywhere. My employer is now National Div, even though it is just the parent/umbrella of Regional Div. My insurance carrier will now be BCBS of GA instead of Highmark BS of PA. ADHD is covered by Highmark. It is not by BCBS of GA. I will end up paying about $4000 in out of pocket expenses due to this. Is this legal? What are my options? Supplemental insurance for MH does not exist. I make too much for any state aid and am ineligible for other state MH programs. An old problem that I figured was more-or-less permanently in my past has reared its head. Even though I graduated from college a decade ago and have since gone to law school, a prospective employer is demanding my college transcript. I did poorly in college - I got three Fs and had to take a year off at my school's insistence. My question is, when I send along my transcript, should I include any kind of explanatory note, or just leave things be? (A few more details inside.) [more inside]
My employer is running out of cash, in debt to suppliers, and has had trouble meeting payroll several times this year. My gut says I'll be out of work in a couple weeks, a month at the most. Do I approach the clients, let them know the situation and propose completing the projects on my own for the remaining amount of the project? [more inside]
