Wanting to close my Yahoo account. How would I do so and save all past e-mails.
I have been using yahoo mail for at least 15 years. I liked it, worked just fine for me. The new format (which only showed up on my desktop; my i-pad's yahoo mail format has not changed) is frustrating, annoying, and not to my liking at all). Is there any way to go back to the old format? What (free) email server is most like the "old" Yahoo mail? I know everyone has their own favorite e-mail provider--what YOU like or YOU are used to. I know that G-Mail is probably the most popular provider these days, but I am not looking to be sold on your personal fave--I just want to know which provider is the most like the OLD yahoo, which is what I personally liked and was used to. I would particularly like to hear from former Yahoo users who switched to something else after this recent change (or, wishful thinking: figured out a way to use the old format). Thanks!
This last month, three of my family/friends had their Yahoo accounts hacked into with all sorts of unpleasantness ensuing. I'd like to save all my important info elsewhere. [more inside]

Searching my yahoo mail usually fails. I enter the word/phrase I'm looking for then hit the Search button, and all I get is a blank page that seems to be loading. That's it! It gets stuck there. Sometimes the search is successful, but recently, more often than not, it doesn't work. Does anyone have a solution? I use Firefox 4.0.1 and Yahoo Mail Classic. I can't remember when this problem started, perhaps a few weeks/months ago.
I received a weird email from my Mum a couple of days ago, which was obviously from a hacked account, but I just thought that it was from a fake address as happens sometimes. However it wasn't. Please help! [more inside]
I newly purchased an iPhone4 on Vodafone in the UK. Gmail email seems to work beautifully, in a "push" fashion. Yahoo email ( a non paid account on yahoo.com) just does not seem to do it in "push" fashion. Email is erratic. This is despite resetting "all settings" and re installing account. Any solutions guys? Does anyone know the yahoo IMAP settings, as I am told that solves the problem? Thanks
My Yahoo small business account (webhosting) was closed because my autopay credit card expired. I called to try to reopen and was led to believe that my website would be put back up like old times once I signed up for another year of webhosting. This does not now seem to be the case and I am now going to cancel the order within the 30 day period. Who do you recommend as the best webhost provider for a very small service business? (HTML5 capability would be nice.) I need to get up and running with someone else asap before i miss more emails/potential clients. Also, should I use the new webhost provider for email or something like googleapps? Thank you for any advice.

We keep getting kicked out of Yahoo mail (asking us to log back in again). We've set it to "ask every 24 hours"; we accept cookies. We've cleared cookies. We remain logged into other cookie-lovin' sites (i.e., Amazon). This happens in IE and Firefox. This happens on three different computers. What gives?
