OutlookFilter: we've been instructed to clean out our work e-mail. My co-worker has been using her e-mail as an effective filing system.
Is there a way that she can both a) download the emails to her hard drive and b) maintain an interface that allows her to organize the e-mails by date, subject, sender, etc.? [more inside]

It's become apparent that my computer may have a Trojan. I just received a Returned Mail notice for mail I never sent, which instead of displaying my name it displayed "jasen kimberly," and was sent to a strange russian email address: munsov@pobox.spbu.ru. I'm concerned that this may be the result of a trojan "phoning home," or using my computer to send spam.

Hello:
After several years, I am finally upgrading and purchasing a new computer. My dilemma is moving files onto this new computer. My operating system on both computers is Windows XP.
1. I need advice moving my Thunderbird Email and Email folders onto this new computer. I understand that emails are really embedded and can be a problem. I also need assistance moving my FIREFOX bookmarks. I would really hate to loose those bookmarks!
2. I then plan to copy all my document files onto a CD using Nero and then recopying to the new computer.
3. I plan to go through the arduous task of reinstalling all my programs. That is my plan; however, I want to insure I am not overlooking a vital task!
I really do need assistance moving my email and bookmark files.
If I have missed anything, please advise.
Thanks in advance.

Riddle me this: there are two Windows XP computers (desktop and laptop) on the same Internet connection, behind the same router, connecting wirelessly to it. The laptop often (but not every time) takes a really long time (30 seconds+) to send email and connect to certain websites. The desktop never has this problem. What's going on? [more inside]

I was just contacted by my company's ISP saying that our company's account is compromised by a virus as phishing emails have been sent out from here. I find this very hard to believe as we are an all-mac shop and I am fairly confident that these phishing emails generally spoof headers and such. Am I wrong? [more inside]

I need to allow a few people to access our mail server using Outlook from outside the building. They use OWA yet do not like having to use a web page to do this (yeah, I know...).
I thought of setting up POP3 but am not sure what ports I need to open on the firewall (110, 25 do not seem to cut it).
What is the functional difference between POP3 and IMAP and is either one better/easier to setup? (File folder sharing would be an optional objective).

As a follow-up to this question, I'm looking for an online application that will let me set up a calendar and will email me daily reminders of the day's events. I need to do this online, because I move around a lot and am constantly using different PCs (so an Outlook/Eudora/Etc. solution won't work). I would like to be able to get a reminder the night before and one the morning-of. Google suggests there are several such services. Are there any really good ones? Bonus: Has anyone invented one that will phone you or leave your a text message?
