I would like to purchase an off-brand tablet computer from a discount electronics website. I know nothing about components or specs or anything- the only info I have to go on is bigger number is good. Please help me. (sorry but this post got way too long, you've been warned.)

Setting up a media PC for my television. Already have all the hardware set up, just wondering what kind of software people are using to have a "reasonable television-like experience" with mouse only or wireless xbox360 controller (currently looking in to getting one of these)

Is there a tool online that might be able to tell me what parameters I would want for a new computer (probably laptop) given my current patterns of use? Looking in stores leads me to think I don't need the high end models but I'd hate to buy something only to find out I should have sprung for the extra RAM.

Looking for the perfect laptop for traveling. Priorities are durability, lightness, and battery life, in that order. Performance is not too important, but it must run Windows 7 like a champ. Willing to consider netbooks.

Just returned from fabulous 2 week holiday in New York. I Brought back Epson Artisan 800 All-in-One Printer from Staples costing $230. Unfortunately, I cannot use it in U.K., unless I plug voltage converter/transformer products. Has anyone else bought this set over there with more success?
Any advice \ information appreciated.
Please specify me What exact voltage converter product to buy & where to buy it from USA online store. Thanks.

So, on lap top power cables, and USB cables, what is that cylindrical object near the end? Kind of like if the cable was a snake, the snake had gotten hungry and just swallowed a plump, unfortunate hamster. (Or a thirsty, unfortunate snake had swallowed a can of soda.) What is it? What's it called? And what does it do? - Digest electrons?

It’s that time again – I need a new computer, as my old one struggles with Windows XP and Word and basic functions. However, with all the publicity the Green lobbyists have been getting, I was wondering just how green I can realistically make my new computer?
