I built this mini guitar amp based on this circuit. But I used a 4 watt speaker rather than the 8 watts specified. What are the consequences of that change? [more inside]

I'm looking for the simplest circuit possible that can do two things: 1.Take a line output from a PC sound card and drive a small speaker, and 2.take the input from a microphone and amplify this to a line input level. What's the simplest circuit out there for this? Bonus points on offer if it can amplify up to 4 of each channel. [more inside]
