Seeing red, feeling blue...or seeing blue and feeling red?

As I understand it, though I can't find a reference for this, media outlets alternate the colours they use for political parties. Sometimes the Republicans are red and sometimes the Democrats are. But this didn't happen in the last election, apparently because the two parties (especially the Republicans) invested themselves deeply into their chosen colour. For 2008 in the U.S. is there any indication that the media will go back to the old way, or further entrench the permanent colours? (FWIW, in Canada the colours have been pretty standardized for a long time it appears.)

Polling center PAC question - why didn't the MoveOn guy have to leave?

ElectionFairnessFilter. So i just voted (yay) and noticed something odd - a man in the polling place sitting quietly behind a MoveOn PAC sign. I didn't think we in the US could have anyone inside the polling place advocating a specific voting paradigm (even if I do think it's a good paradigm to support), and so I wasn't surprised when a lady complained and an officious-looking man walked over to talk to the seated gentleman - but after a short conversation, they let him stay. Anyone know what gives here? Why would they not ask him to leave?

What U.S. network will have fair, non-partisan election coverage?

Yet ANOTHER Election Night Question: What network should I be locked into on Tuesday night? I want fairness, either by straight non-partisanship or true balance, good solid analysis of what each state's results mean as we go, and some personality and banter to keep it interesting. ABC? CNN? MSNBC? FOX News? (hah. just kidding about that one.)

Election Night Socializing: TV/Online Immersion v. Human Contact?

ACTUAL HUMAN CONTACT FILTER: Another election-night question, but more specifically: On Tuesday, I have been invited to a few parties, and there are some bands playing election-themed shows around town, but —the question I ask you is— should I even go out? I'm conflicted, as this political stuff is so consuming and I like to dart around on the web and on tv (and yap on metafilter) when things are happening; I've stayed at home during all the debates and primaries stuff, to the growing complaint of friends who invite me out to things. Are any of you going out on Election night? Or is it more fun for political junkies to just sit in front of the opium den of internet and tv? What do you consider more healthy? I know the debates on Metafilter was some of the most fun I've ever had, particularly the Internets moment. Can actual human contact beat that?

Political Playlist

I'm putting together a playlist for an election-results-watching party (Go Kerry!). Any recommendations for songs relating to the current administration?
So far, I've got: Ani DiFranco's 'Self Evident', Saul Williams' 'Pledge of Resistance' and Eminem's Mosh from the recent post. I know I've heard others, but can't seem to find them right now.
Any genre is OK, just curious as to how much I can find, my google-fu doesn't seem up to the task of finding political songs without too much stuff from the Vietnam era.
