Help me decipher California's ballot propositions!

As a new California voter, I'm somewhat baffled by the various propositions on the ballot. Can you help me sort them out?

The ballot questions I'm used to are of the 'school board budget for a small town' type, rather than the 'big, vague, expensive, with many potential follow-on effects' that seem to be the way Californians do things.

I'm trying to find good information about the pros and cons of the various propositions on the ballot. Your own arguments are helpful and appreciated.

I have read the supplemental voter guide my Board of Elections sent me, and spent some time on this site. However, it doesn't go into a lot of detail, and I'm lacking the context for these initiatives in terms of who is proposing the propositions and what the effects of the changes would be. I've found a couple editorial endorsements from places like the LA Times, but I'm looking for more information.

This question mostly applies to Propositions that aren't Prop 8, I already know I'm voting No on that one. Thanks for your help!

Money to burn?

Why is Obama advertising in Oklahoma? From what I can tell, McCain will win OK. Thirty points is thirty points, not matter how good the momentum is right now. So why spend money in Oklahoma at all?

Debate party ideas?

Need help/ideas on politically inspired appetizers for the upcoming 2008 Presidential Debates. Like the previous two threads (which were great!) - I'm looking for themed easy appetizers/finger foods for the Obama/Mccain & Biden/Palin debates. No special dietary requirements either, just tasty and funny.

Thanks!

Wow, did he really say that?

I need transcripts of all speeches, remarks or otherwise public statements made by Obama and McCain for this year's campaign. There's one in particular that I just can't find right now. After receiving a particularly infuriating Mallard Filmore cartoon from a friend, I wanted to respond with a full transcript of Obama's Powder Springs, GA remarks. (You know, the one where he says he hates English speakers and all children will be forced to learn Spanish and speak French like his fellow elitists.) I checked the Obama website, googled several different keyword sets and just couldn't find the full transcript.

You tube links are pretty easy to find, but my friend's connection is way, way too slow for YouTube links. I'm looking for text.

Super Tuesday party ideas?

We're having a Super Tuesday party at our house, and we're looking for funny politically-related finger food ideas (half-moon cookies anyone?) as well as some good party names (like Super Booze-day). People of all political stripes will of course be welcome, but we're all Obama supporters, FWIW.

Who is MoveOn backing, specifically for president for 2008?

Does anyone know who Moveon is backing for the 2008 election?

I already checked their web site, and also sent them a q (i presume they are quite busy, but still, if they're attempting to raise $2 mil + to support a candidate, I'd like to know who that is if I'm going to think about supporting that person).

They say a "progressive" candidate, but much as I dig moveon, that ain't enough info for me.

thx!
