Recent job opportunity came up, and I have the chance to write semi-professionally for a small company. Think in the vein of writing movie reviews or reviewing software. Its professional writing, but there will be conceptual and thematic details involved, it's not simply writing staid copy.
I would like to find a book that helps me hone my prose, and will teach me how to better edit and improve my work. [more inside]

I have a few dozen short .mov files that want to edit together. Before I do that, though, I want to apply image stabilization software and then edit together the stabilized clips. I have Premiere Pro CS5.5 and After Effects CS5.5, but can't figure out what my workflow needs to be. [more inside]

I can find google answers for Adobe X, but not XI, and the instructions for X don't work for XI. So.
I want to add footnotes while editing my PDF document (something I wrote in word and saved as a PDF, but for various reasons I don't want to work on the original word document). Unlike in Adobe X, there is no "edit page design" button now. Is there a way to add footnotes to your PDF in Adobe XI? Looking up "footnote" in the Help menu yields nada. Thanks!

Hello Graphics Minded MeFiers. How can I (ungraphics minded MeFier) make a simple 3d image like the one posted below? I have spent a week or so with several programs but all have proven too complicated or look too ugly. Isn't there a simple program out there that I can "paint" 3d ribbons with like in the linked image? thanks all!

I'd like to sync a shared event/appointment calendar with a work colleague, which we both can edit
(not just view) on our iMac computers, preferably without having to go to an external website to make edits, or paying for an outside service. Details within. [more inside]

I need to replace the video track of an MP4 with a single image in one case and with a series of transitioning images in another case. In both cases I wish to leave the audio track intact. I have tried Virtual-Dub and Windows Movie Maker (the downloadable version does not allow editing of the video/audio separately). Any suggestions for which software to use. I thought it would be straightforward, it hasn't been.

I have a photo that I want to rotate a couple of degrees, but all I have on my computer is Paint which will only do it 90 or 180 degrees. I don't want to download a program because this is my work computer, but I don't want to wait till I get home, as I don't have internet access at the moment. Is there something online similar to Photobucket that will let me upload a photo and then edit it, and that is able to custom rotate images? I've tried googling but can't find anything. Any help greatly appreciated!

I am a freelance video editor and I am being asked to work on spec (as in do the work and the producers will pay for my work if they like it). I want to draft some sort of contract outlining what I am doing, and their use of my work if they do like it, but I don't know exactly what I should include in a contract like this. Can anyone point me in the right direction?

A friend of a friend who does not care for me told his friend that I sent him a text mesage to his cellphone and even showed his friend the message however, I did not send the message, do not know this person's cell ph # nor do I know his last name. The question is, how did he show my cell ph # as having sent a text message to his cell ph. It must be possible because my friend saw my # attached to this message in the inbox in his cell ph .
