Lambchop synth hook

What song is this Lambchop synth hook referencing? The song is 'Caterpillar', off of the excellent Is a Woman.
The melody comes in at the top a=of the song, then later around 4:45.

I think the song references a Marvin Gaye song, maybe off of What's Going On.

Paper Lady/Lace/She's a Lady earworm. Trying to recall a song from my childhood (1970s/early 80s)... I thought it was called 'Paper Lace' or 'Paper Lady' or maybe 'She's a lady' (it's not *by* Paper Lace) and the only lyrics I remember are 'Paper Lady/Paper Lace I'm sorry but......oooh she's a lady/paper lady'

One for the DiscoEarwormFilter

Can you identify this 1970s pop/disco/r&b song? I've had a weird earworm all day: one verse and a chorus from a 70s pop/r&b/disco sort of a song that I haven't heard in 30-some years, and I don't remember the title or anything; I was only a little girl when I heard it last. I can't find any info on it.

What I do remember is a lyric that's a goof on the nursery rhyme Old Mother Hubbard:

"Old Mother Hubbard went to the cupboard to get her old dog a bone.
When she got there, the cupboard was bare, but the dog didn't care; wanna know why?
'Cause he boogied, boogied on down..."

Or something like that. Did this song exist? Who did this song?

Thanks.

Indie songs in TV commercials

Indie songs in commercials? I'm trying to remember all of the indie songs used in TV commercials over the past 5 or so years. Like: Nick Drake, Pink Moon (Volkswagon); Hem, Half Acre (some kind of insurance); Ingrid Michaelson, The Way I Am (Old Navy?). I know there are more. A Richard Bruckner song? Maybe Keren Ann's One Day Without?

Especially where the song is not super well-known before the commercial. (So Natasha Bedingfield in the Pantene commercial is not exactly the same thing.)

Not in the broccoli?

From whence the phrase "oohh, not in the broccoli" spoken in a stereotype ESL japanese speaker accent? As a kid in the 80s we used this phrase when someone had a accident resulting in things flying all over. EG: bumping a full plate of the table or knocking a bag of groceries down the stairs.

I fairly sure it originated from a movie/tv, probably a kung fu type show where someone ends up landing on a stack of boxes of broccoli. Anyone know which show?

Teach me to appreciate music..........again.

How can I get "reverse earworm"? I have a song that I really like, but I've listened to it so many times, I seem to have lost the ability to hear it. The song is Feels Like Home, by Chantal Kreviazuk. Youtube video. When I first got a copy of this song, I had it on repeat pretty much constantly. Now, when I put it on, I tend to zone out, and not pay attention to it. It's almost like I've sickened myself of it, but I still really like it, and I'd like to be able to appreciate it again. I listen to the first few bars, and then drift off to something else, where before I'd have to listen to it again.

I know tastes change, but I know if I could really hear this song again, I'd love it. I still really love the first few bars, but I just can't seem to pay attention to the rest of it.

Please tell me I'm not alone in this happening.

How can I learn to listen to the song again, and enjoy it as much as I originally did?

What are some worn and used songs in other countries?

In the U.S., there are those songs that relentlessly show up everywhere. Songs like C&C Music Factory's "Good Vibrations," for example. I've heard it on numerous commercials, shows, in arenas, etc. These are songs that are still used LONG past their 15 minutes of fame due date. But what about other countries?

I'm curious about what pop songs are relentless in other countries. I'd love to know if Japan, for instance, has some typical songs that everyone there recognizes that have been around a while and are used for many different applications. Does anyone have any insight on this?

Forgotten saxaphone shlock jazz hit from the disco era

Earworm: Please identify the song title and artist responsible for a soaring, saxophone driven instrumental hit popular on FM radio sometime in the 1978-1981 time frame. My best guess is this hit rode on the coattails of "Feels So Good". Unlike that happy hit, the song I am seeking had a more dramatic, soaring crescendo, ideal for sailing boats or, well, sailing boats.

I need someone to identify a song for me, from an advertisement I keep seeing on SkyOne in Ireland. Hey, I'm sure someone's going to be able to answer this one quick, but I've hit Google for damn near an hour now with no luck.

I did, however, find a Google Video Link to the commercial. For those of you who might know the advertisement just by description: its the one for Fujifilm, in which the older couple keeps getting their picture taken in younger people's situations, i.e. a bumper car park, wearing crappy 80's clothing, etc. It also ends with a picture of the older woman being pregnant, which in a flash turns into a younger couple. I hope that's concise and good enough of a description.

So, could someone please be a dove, listen to this, and just let me know who does the song? I'm really interested in the style - it sounds like Frou Frou, but Irish instead of British. That, and I'm about to go out of my mind listening to the damn 30 second clip every 15 minutes or so, and singing it the rest of the day.

Thanks in advance.

BBC4 "What's that song"

[BBC ad music filter] Does anyone know what the bleepy electro/ Mark Mothersbaugh-esque music playing on the BBC4 trailers for Mark Gattis' "The Worst Journey in The World" about Apsley Cherry-Garrard's epic hunt for penguin eggs?
It's been all over the BBC the last few weeks, it is being premièred tomorrow, so the trailers will not be on for long. I have been unable to use the "Shazam" mobile phone/ music recognition it due to the lack of recording equipment to tape the trailer.

I doubt recording myself humming the only short repetitive bit I know would help you guess it. Real earworm.

Who sings this song?

Who sings this song? I don't have any of the lyrics, but it's a recent song sung by a girl in kind of a whispery voice, at least that's what it sounds like as far as I can tell. Heard it in a noisy restaurant this morning. The chorus is really catchy and consists of a refrain of "la la's" or "ah ah's", something like that. Here's my lame attempt at whistling it.

Ridiculously specific question regarding Ladytron's just-finished US tour... I saw two performances on this tour, and both times before the first song was played, the band had the venue play a certain old tune over the PA. I've heard it before, but for the life of me, I can't remember who/what it is.

It was very 60's/70's sounding... reminiscent of the Mamas and the Papas. Anybody know what it was?

Can you help me figure out which version of 'Rocky Top' I'm thinking of? Cannot stop listening to the Osbourne Brothers version of Rocky Top.
