This is a pretty basic question about WordPress & Earthlink hosting. I need advice about installing WP through Earthlink's installer in the control panel. [more inside]

So I recently moved, and as I always do, got an account with Time Warner (who are pretty much the only option in the part of Austin where I live). I noticed that my IP was resolving as either "earthlink.net" or "mindspring.com" when it should be "austin.rr.com", but didn't think much of it. However, today I found a letter in the mail containing "important information about your EarthLink account." Wot's, uh, the deal? [more inside]

My friend/business colleague's Verizon emails suddenly now turn up in my Earthlink email in box hours late. Where do we start looking for where the problem lies? [more inside]

Earthlink charges me 10$ a month extra to use more than one computer on my connection, on top of the 42$ a month I normally pay. I don't want to pay this. [more inside]

Anyone used Earthlink's trueVoice VoIP service? They called with an offer today. I'm suspicious of VoIP, but I'm tired of paying $53 per month for DSL plus $100 for phones plus long distance, etc. They're offering $69 for 8mbps DSL plus phone line and unlimited local and US/Canada LD, $14 for additional line, and no extra taxes or charges, (they say). My worst fear is that it's usable but rinky-dink like Skype.

I've just been given a rather attractive economic reason to switch from Roadrunner to Earthlink for cable modem access to the net.
Does anyone have good/bad experience(s) with Earthlink for high speed access?
Do they cap you for or restrict filesharing activities?
Is there USENET server good, bad/so-so?
Any other good/bad things to note about their services offered?

I just found out that Earthlink, whose customer service I've always loved (they stay on the phone as long as it takes, and are always patient and nice), is moving those jobs overseas, so I want to drop them and switch to somewhere else. Is there any way of finding out online or otherwise if another provider (or any company in general really) is using US labor? (a little more inside) [more inside]
