I am very small; my ears are very small. I want earphones, preferably sound-reducing in-ears, that actually fit in my ear for use at work. I do care about sound quality. I like the idea of sound-reduction so I don't turn my volume up to potentially damaging levels in order to hear my music over the noise in my open-concept office. On- and over-ear cause terrible headaches, often within 30 minutes of use (I blame my thick glasses arms and tiny head, which sometimes has the headband floating above my head on the smallest setting). Any recommendations?
According to my understanding of how noise-cancelling headphones work, the headphones detect low-frequency ambient noise levels near my ears, and emit a frequency which cancels out the ambient noise, so that instead I hear silence in place of the noise. Although I can't hear these noise-cancelling frequencies, I'm wondering whether they might be having a cumulative negative effect on my hearing. Is it only audible frequencies that have the potential to harm? Or can prolonged exposure to inaudible frequencies have a detrimental physical effect?

Hi. If I have new IEMs and the bass sounds like it's just too much -- unblended, overshadowing, even muddying -- is it possible that it will balance out in the same way as other problems go away during/after proper burn-in time? [more inside]
I'm looking for a new set of headphones to wear while running and I'm interested in trying Bluetooth. I want to still be able to hear the world around me as I do most of my running on the road. Track/volume controls would be nice to have. Can any of you recommend something you've had a good experience with? [more inside]
During a recent cross country move I have lost two pairs of earphones. I also have a pair cheap wired over ear Sennheiser headphones and smaller pair of Sennheiser on ear headphones that I use at work. I'd like to replace all of these with one or two pairs of earphones or headphones that fits all my criteria. [more inside]
I have Brainwavz M3 in-ear monitors and, before sending them out to be fixed, I want to know if the problem probably resides in the earbuds themselves or in the audio jack. See Extended explanation... Thank you. [more inside]
I'm looking for new headphones or earbuds. Sound quality isn't that important. Long-term comfort and build quality are. [more inside]
You know those earpieces on curly cabling you always see agents wear in films? I've seen someone advertising them for connecting to a phone or MP3 player. I have hearing aids with a similar design, and I find them both comfortable and useful. Can anyone help me find them again? They don't fill the whole ear, and just sit inside the outer canal ... I cycle a lot in central London, so being able to hear other stuff is pretty handy!
EarPhoneFilter: I used to have absolutely amazing in-ear earphones years ago before an associate broke them and I missed the really awesome experience of having super high quality music... so as per an audiophile friend's recommendation recently bought what were supposed to be an absolutely amazing pair to top any other in its price range, Ultimate Ears Triple.fi 10. However, I have had absolutely no luck with them so far and have sort-of been missing my free Samsung Galaxy SIII earbuds? Is there any way I could be... cripes, using them wrong? Is it possible to use earphones... wrongly? Has anyone had any experience with this particular model? Do I have a dud pair? Help! [more inside]
I need replacement cables for my TripleFi 10 earphones. Problem is, the default ones by Logitech are kind of crappy, and the only alternative I see online looks even worse. Are there any durable, modestly-priced cables I can get that'll fit my TripleFis? (I'm hoping for something in the $30-40 range if possible – I have no idea if it's too much to hope for cables that cheap that won't also break.)
So I love my Etymotic hf2 headphones. The sound is crisp, lush, and only just a little light in the bass. The problem is cord noise. Is there another brand or model of in-ear phones that doesn't have this problem? [more inside]

What headphones should I buy for running and the gym? I've had enough of all of my Shure in-ear isolating earbuds dying on one side. My right bud died suddenly, and this is the third pair in a row. I've had this pair for less than 6 months. I am in urgent need of in-ear earphones for use on a number of long flights I have to take in the coming months. I've narrowed down my choices to the Shure e2c or the Sony MDRNC22. The Shure is noise isolating, the Sony is noise cancelling. Which is better? The shure's seem to go deeper into the ear. Will that get uncomfortable?
I love these headphones because the cord retracts. Brilliant, right? Yeah, Sony stopped making them. What other headphones can do this too? [more inside]
What are the right headphones for me? Big head, normal ears, likes loud noises, $100-$200 budget. Mostly for listening to music on my iPod Touch, occasionally playing games on my computer using it's (reasonably competent) onboard audio. I understand the listening experience is subjective, but if I can narrow it down to a short list, I can work on getting my head on various items to see how they work for me. [more inside]

Can you recommend some ear/headphones for someone with small ears? The ones that came with my old ipod always fall out because the earbuds are a bit too big. I read some previous threads here that recommended the kind that loop over your ear, but I wear glasses, so those never fit properly and fall off. I'd prefer some cheapies, as I'm not looking for superior sound quality; I just like to listen to pop music when I jog.

I’ve just started using my first PDA/Smartphone (Blackberry 8820) and I need some recommendations for a headset. I mostly listen to audiobooks on my mp3 player using only one earbud. I thought of just snipping off the second earbud to keep it from being in the way. Is there any reason this is a bad idea? I can't imagine there would be enough power flowing through them to make any danger of shock, but would the leftover earbud still work?

I've been given a pair of Shure SE310 earphones for Christmas. This is fantastic. However, Etymotic makes the ER6s which can be fitted into custom earplug molds. I'm looking for cheap, deep-in-the-ear earbuds for listening to audiobooks. The sound quality doesn't have to be great, because I won't use them to listen to music. I want cheap ones, because I inevitably break headphones, and I don't want to have to spend $100 every month. On the other hand, I'm willing to spend $20 a month if I have to. In-the-ear, because I don't want to keep my wife awake with "leaking" sound. [more inside]
