I've noticed periodic (every few months) messages/advertisements in my hotmail inbox. I then change my password. They appear to be from me (i.e., firstname.lastname@example.org -- I use another name in hotmail.) I saw one this morning, and changed the password. This afternoon I had another one. Advice beyond changing the password (I use difficult passwords with capitals, punctuation, numerals, etc.)?

I own my own business. After a screen crack on a lap top, I bought a new laptop. I also bought Office 2013, with Outlook. How can I get a single inbox? It wants to set up multiple inboxes and I do not want to have to check different inboxes. I had a single inbox on my Outlook 2010. Every link I see on Google has ridiculous levels of power user requirements that I have neither the time nor the ability to do. Can anyone help? Running Windows 8 on an HP Pavilion.

How do introverts handle communication in environments where the receivers do not value email or consider it worth replying to? I find tracking people down to ask questions and make requests face-to-face or over the phone very disruptive to my work pattern (intense concentration for long periods of time) and very inefficient. I would much prefer to use email since I would consider this far less disruptive to both my workload and the recipient's workload. They can answer at their leisure, but I still expect an eventual answer if I ask a direct question (even if it's "I'm too busy to answer at the minute"). [more inside]

I have a friend who has become totally reliant on an e-mail account, which was provided by an internet service provider which she has just left to go to a new ISP. She uses Outlook 2003 as her e-mail client program. Unfortunately, she is now finding that after moving to this new ISP that although she can receive e-mails absolutely fine, she cannot send e-mails. Is there a way, in say, thunderbird to specify and e-mail address as a privileged email address? I would like it so that if a flagged address is chosen the program asks you one last time before you send the e-mail if you are sure you want to send it to the address listed. Sometimes I'm a little quick on the draw with e-mail addresses. Basically if I send something to a friend that is inappropriate for say my mom I want my program to let me know that I chose my mom's address instead before it goes out.
Long story short, I lost my contacts from an old e-mail but I have their e-mail/details in the body of invoices that I forwarded to my current address. I've been copying thousands of e-mail out out by hand, but am realizing I'll have carpal tunnel before it's done. Is there a way to do this short of hiring someone to write a script? Tried forwarding e-mail to Thunderbird, but the extension that looked like it might do this doesn't search the body of e-mail https://addons.mozilla.org/en-us/thunderbird/addon/email-address-crawler/ Also, looking into autohotkey, but am under time constraints. Grateful for any pointers here!

I just got an iPhone 4. On it, I can take video and then e-mail it, and the video will be embedded in the e-mail. Is there a simple way to do this from my MacBook as well--take video from iPhoto and send it so that it's a nice, small, reasonably high quality video embedded in an e-mail? Everything I've been able to find online seems so complicated. I just want to click a button and have it go.

How do I sync two IMAP folders? I currently use Gmail for all my e-mail (personal & work). I currently have about 4,000+ messages archived in Gmail and I'll continue to add 300-500 per month. I also have a IMAP account with my webhost and I was wondering if there was any type of application or script that would connect to the Gmail IMAP servers and backup/sync all of my mail so I know that in addition to being in Gmail's cloud....it is also on my IMAP server in case something happens. Thoughts?
