What are the best ways to respond when family members are being mean to each other in the name of love? [more inside]
I'm reading A Raisin in the Sun with my high school class. I'd like to show them clips from various televsion shows that display the humor, drama, and complications that come from being a part of a family. YouTube links are amazing. Thanks!
What is the proper response when you've just sent out an email invitation to a regular social group because it's your turn to host, and immediately one of the members replies-all to your email in order to publicly "correct" you. Only they're actually wrong. [more inside]
I currently have 3 gas cans in my garage that may or may not have been mixed with oil. I know one of them has because I know my leaf blower requires it. I know one doesn't because my lawnmower takes straight gas. My challenge is I don't know which is which. Does anybody have an recommendations for how to solve my problem? [more inside]
I remember vaguely that it had a purple cover, but cannot remember the title or author. I know within the first few pages was a chart explaining the dynamics with a few intertwined circles. It was not a textbook, but a paperback of about 200 pages. Sadly, that's all I remember. At the time I was a sophomore in high school and the book caught my eye on a bookshelf. However, I could only read a few pages because it was more challenging than any book I had encountered. Now, I keep thinking about this book and have a strong impression that if I were to find it, it could finally be comprehensible to me. Help?
Is a man who pretends to be friends with a woman when he is actually interested in more than friendship doing something shady? Should said woman (myself) drop him as a friend or give him a chance to adjust? He’s a good friend and generally a positive, interesting and charming friend to have (smart, insightful, witty, capable of deep conversation, trustworthy with secrets, understanding…). I’m simply not interested in dating him (for many reasons, the most glaring of which is that he’s sexist in subtle ways that I couldn’t tolerate in a partner), but I value and love his friendship and conversation. I do not want to date him, ever. I don’t know if I should salvage our friendship or let it go, for his sake and mine...I've included the details below but I think this summary captures what I am trying to intellectually and emotionally figure out. Is your company as dysfunctional as mine? From the outside looking in, everything seems great. From a customers point of view our product is quite polished. But....if you sit where I am, everything is a mess. Procedures that make no sense. Technology infrastructure that looks like spaghetti. Horrible data. Broken lines of communication. Inability to book a simple meeting room. People bitching about leaving stuff in the refrigerator. Meetings that go nowhere. I have seen this at other companies. Is this par for the course or do I need to get a new job? If this isn't the case in your company, what things ( process / procedure / software / behaviours/ etc. ) have made the biggest positive impact? If your company is as messy as mine, what things make you say WTF? Learn me about what happens in your corporate black box.....for better or worse.

I'm kicking around a concept for a theoretical piece I hope to work on in the near future, dealing with the way "femininity" and the "female" category are conceived of linguistically. Help me find some empirical data!

This research claims that there aren't any blind schizophrenics. Basically, it says that blindness could protect against schizophrenia, but because of typically later age of onset for blindness (mostly results of glaucoma and macular degenration), I wonder if schizophrenia could somehow protect against blindness. Does anyone have an opinion on this? [more inside]
