I'd like to burn .flv and .mp4 files to DVD for people without puters, to watch on US DVD players. What format do they need converted to (I can use VLC media player to convert them, if they need converted) and what is a good open source and/or free software to burn said converted files to DVD?

I own the
M*A*S*H - Martinis and Medicine Complete Collection. Along with all of the DVDs is a thick booklet that lists all of the episodes. I've misplaced that particular part of the box set and I'm wondering if anyone knows how I can go about getting another copy of that? Is there some way I can contact the company(Fox) that produces this box set and offer to pay? Or is this something that I should just accept as lost?

Best free (or fair cost - some commercial programs are ridiculously over the $100 range) DVD burning program that takes PC video files (mp4, avi, mpg, flv, etc...) and burns them to DVD for watching on TV.

Black 2.0GHz MacBook (2GB memory) from 2006 -- it's been repurposed as a Netflix playback machine. I have it connected to a VGA adaptor to a 19" widescreen monitor and it plays back Netflix in a browser and we also watch DVDs on it, and we also play AVIs with VLC.
The problem: video is just slightly choppy. Just choppy enough to be annoying. Tried Chrome and also Safari to do the playback.
How can I squeeze more video performance from this laptop to avoid the slight choppiness? I have a feeling if I can improve it just slightly that would be a big win.

Can you help me get my Cox Cable universal remote (M7820) to play nice with my Sony Blu-ray player (BDP-S380 / BX38)? Both Sony and Cox tech support tell me there are no remote codes in existence to program into the Cox remote. That just sounds ludicrous to me...what's up?
I know how to program the remote, just need the proper code.

What is the *best* way to download video from Itunes and the internet onto a blank disc? About a year ago, someone showed me a program or application that easily and elegantly took selected parts of an internet video (and I think an Itunes TV show as well) and transformed it into something I could play on a DVD. This wasn't just a kind of dragging and clicking operation but a specific application or program that made it very neat and easy. I need to do this with a few clips for a small presentation.

I need to make about 3-4 different jpeg slideshows that can be burned to a DVD. Nothing fancy, but it would be nice to add text to the images ( I have Photoshop, so that's not critical), and be able to control the speed (very critical) to maybe 30 seconds per slide/jpeg. Total images would be less than 50. Autoplay a plus. I am using Windows 7, and love simple to use free stuff, but would pay 50-100 if it is worth it. What am I looking for?

I ripped a DVD of music videos, and now have one giant .m4v file. What's the easiest way to cut it down to separate videos?
I used handbrake to rip it, but the chapters don't correspond to the videos - there are intros, etc. that i don't want. I have access to iMovie and maybe Final Cut Express, but that seems like overkill.
There's gotta be a simpler way, right?

How can I stream DVDs from my Synology NAS to my TV? I want to keep the extras, so I don't want to just rip it to avi or anything.
I assume I need a device that will browse the NAS and mount the DVD and play it, but every streaming device I've found seems to just play simple videos.
Commentary is half the value in any DVD, so if it isn't possible to do this I'd need to have some way to rip the DVD to a video file using the audio from the commentary.
