I have windows 8.1 and I have pictures and videos inside the picture library. When I go into the picture library I see photos and I also have videos and those video icons have arrows in the center of them to indicate to me that they are videos. I can't seem to figure out how to transfer those videos to a DVD disc. I have DVD+R discs. Thank you.

Help me build my perfect home media machine. It must play blu-ray discs, browse the web, and stream HD video from internet sources. I have no interest in video games, and little interest in cable TV. DVDs and Blu Ray discs are such a pain with their ability to be scratched and the need to find where a disc is, is it in the right case, etc. I find myself often drawn to standard definition “on demand” movies on cable (free ones) instead of searching my own high definition or DVD movies. Is there a way to have the convenience of “on demand” and the quality of the original media? [more inside]
Between the 4 desktops that my immediate family owns, we've probably been through 6 or 7 DVD burners in the last few years. Does everyone else have this kind of failure rate? Any recommendations on reasonably priced, quality drives, so that I don't have to keep replacing them? [more inside]

Is there any software (preferably for OSX) that I can use to scan a used XBox disc for bad sectors? The format is DVD, so I suppose a normal DVD scanning program could do the job. I just want to be sure that the whole game works before my guarantee expires and I'm unable to return it.
Why doesn't my computer recognize a program I want to install by DVD. I use XP. It happens to be a bible program and my DVD does recognize other DVD's but when I put in the installation DVD for this program, nothing shows up under the "D" drive where the DVD is located. If I go to "Start," "Open" I get a message "Please insert a disc in drive D." I've rebooted a number of times and this does not help. I've called the (bible program) help desk and they sent me a complete new program (free) and low and behold, it does not recognize the DVD? Any ideas' to try? Do you think I have a defective DVD?

Forgive me if I should know this already. but do I really have to buy additional software to play DVDs on my PC? I mean, I bought this combo (CD-RW/DVD) drive so I could burn CDs and play DVDs, but Win XP has no native DVD codec. So is InterVideo's WinDVD or PowerDVD the only options? And does this all come back to the controversy over DeCSS?
