Sharpies on a DVD collection?

Problem: several thousand DVDs in storage boxes and limited room in the movie bookcase. Solution: Vaultz CD wallets, which I've used for my music collection for many years with good results. New problem: how to transfer data onto the DVD discs before sending the original plastic holders into the attic for storage? [more inside]

what is a good windows utility for accessing an iso file as a disk

I would like to be able to use an image of a CD/DVD ( a .iso file on windows ) so that I can access that image as if it is an actual cd. In the past, maybe 3 years ago or so, I used "Virtual Clone Drive" which worked pretty well but I don't know if this is still a good choice. [more inside]

Need advice on archiving my CD/DVD collection.

Here's what I want to do. 1. put cd/dvd in drive of computer 2. rip it 3. software places files in folder structure I define 4. spits out cd/dvd and does it all over again. Ultimately what I'd like to do is create a digital library of all my music and movies in one central place so my smart tv/computers/tablets/phones have access to the media whenever and wherever. Please flood me with suggestions. I'm a noob at this.

My beloved CD/DVD player (a five-disc carousel model) conked out last night after eight years of faithful service. Is there a Mac equivalent to CDR Media Code Identifier. This could be run in Parallels, but I'm not sure it'll be able to get what it needs out of the DVD drive. And of course, it'd be nice to not have to run Parallels.

The Superdrive on my iMac started acting strange, but I didn't notice at first as I rarely use it. Burning CD/DVDs on Laptop

I own this laptop and I love it except I am having trouble with the cd/dvd burner. It reads just fine but when I try to burn, no matter what program I use, it doesn't burn properly. Sometimes it leaves the disc blank or leaves a song here and there blank while other songs are burned properly. Do you think it's a defective burner or something to do with how it communicates with the OS?

EPSON R300, why doth thee sucketh so bad?

I've just about had it with that total P.O.S. known as the EPSON Stylus Photo R300 printer. XP won't CD or DVD!

Whenever I insert a new disc into either my (internal) DVD drive or my (USB external) CD-burner, Windows XP Explorer refuses to refresh itself with information about the new disc: still shows the old disc's name, double-clicking brings up the content of the old disc (or tries to autorun), etc. Only thing that fixes the problem is to reboot with the new disc inserted. Why, and what's the solution?
