Well, we were successful, and I
pulled off my birthday party by DMing a 1st Edition rules run through Steading of the Hill Giant Chief without too much trouble. Now, my players are well and good hooked, and we're talking about actually running a campaign. Some things came up, however, that some other old school gamers may be able to help with.

I'm planning an old-school 1st Edition AD&D gaming session for April. I haven't played AD&D, or tabletop gamed, for nearly 20 years. I still have all the materials required to set up and play the game with friends, but I'm worried that I'll be under-prepared for the session. Do you have any suggestions for ramping up?

I have never played D&D before, but last week's
Community looked super fun and interesting (not to mention, what a great episode) I've hit up some friends who used to play and there's some interest about getting a game going. But I literally know nothing, and don't know if I'm going to like it. How do I proceed?

Eberron veterans! Help a DM (new to Eberron, not to DMing) out. I'm looking for intriguing plot hooks that specifically exploit two of the setting's distinctive characteristics: the treatment of magic as everyday technology, and the huge rich/poor gap (i.e., the extent to which the dragonmarked houses dominate). Share your stories, unused campaign hooks, or idle musings. Our preferred focus is role-playing, not roll-playing.

I need a good D&D-themed podcast. The only one I've found that's still updating is a recording of a game group's actual sessions, but that's not what I want. Ideally, it'll be about running a good game, creating campaigns, &c. Any links for me?

D&DFilter: I want to buy my girlfriend a very nice set of dice for her to use when she plays D&D. But I don't know what kinds of dice she needs, nor do I know what separates nice dice from very nice dice.
