Dr Whoseum?

Where can I see Dr. Who stuff in or around London? My wife and I are recent (new series) Dr. Who fans, and making our first trip to London in early September. I've checked out http://www.doctorwhoexhibitions.com but it looks like we just missed an exhibit in London. Of the other locations, Coventry seems the closest, about 1 hour out - has anyone been there and is it worth the trip?

Being that Dr. Who is apparently quite popular in the UK, is there anywhere in London apart from the 'official' exhibitions to see Dr. Who stuff? (The ideal is that we can get a Stephen Colbert-style picture with our Dalek friend).

Bonus question: We're also Mighty Boosh fans, so same question but for the Boosh or any other nerd-related British TV shows.

Where have all the sonic screwdrivers gone?

TARDIS Filter: Has the supply of Doctor Who toys into NYC dried up completely? Am I not looking in the right places? Where have all the sonic screwdrivers gone? Help! Basically, I have a short list of Doctor Who toys that are going to make awesome Christmas presents next month. (I'm not mentioning them, as some of the recipients also read this site.) Last year, this would have been no trouble thanks to Forbidden Planet, but recently they stopped stocking them and don't have any plans to resume.

Heading to other comic stores like Midtown and Jim Hanley's has been a bust, and Forbidden Planet's website is out of stock on some of the more crucial items I'm planning on getting. None of the above mentioned stores can do special orders, either.

Can anyone suggest any other places I can search in NYC? I'm open to buying online, as well, but would rather avoid Ebay or discount sites if possible. Thanks!

I need Dr. Who watching advice.

Help me order my queue. Embarrassing confession: I'm a Dr. Who virgin. I realize that this is a situation I should rectify, and I'm definitely pre-disposed to like the series, but I'm also a person who much prefers to consume media in as tabula rasa a state as possible -- I never read reviews before having seen/read/listened to whatever, and so I know very little about the series except that people who have similar taste to mine have enjoyed Dr. Who. Which brings me to my current problem: I thought it would be easy to just start with episode 1 or whatever and then move on from there, but when I search for Dr. Who on Netflix, I'm overwhelmed by the options: Dr. Who: The Beginning, the First and Second series, the modern remake, etc. Movies! Series! It's overwhelming! And since I've waited this long, I want to watch things in the order that makes the most of the experience. But this is difficult to do without doing some research, which would probably expose me to spoilers (and I've judiciously avoided this). I've been told I should just read the wikipedia entry, but again I really love experiencing things with few preconceptions and I suspect that wikipedia would be overkill for what I want. So my question is this: what should I add to my Netflix queue, and in which order? Bonus points for exact titles so that I know which discs are which. Thanks, hive mind, and be gentle: like I said, it's my first time!

(Do I even need to state here that it would be great if you didn't give away details about the series in your answers?)

When something bad happens to Doctor Who, why doesn't he just go back in time and fix it?

DoctorWhoFilter: When something bad happens to the doctor, why doesn't he just go back in time and fix it? He doesn't seem to have a problem with fiddling with time, so why not? Just finished watching the end of the second season of the revised Doctor Who. It was a great episode but it got me thinking... When bad things happen (or an episode doesn't go his way), why doesn't the doctor just use the TARDIS to go back in time and try again?

SPOLIERS: The thought that made it come into my head was when Rose was falling towards the void, and I thought "Well, if she goes in, he can just go back and catch her next time"... Now, in that case Pete caught her anyway, but I can think of many other times, even just from this season, where it would seem to make sense for the Doctor to go back and fix things... (ie. why not take Elton back and rescue the "real" Ursula before she was absorbed, rather than giving him a paver; why not go back and rescue some of the people that died in "Satan's Pit", or stop Toby from infecting the ood so the base wouldn't blow up?)

I know the final answer is "because it wouldn't make good TV", but I'm wondering if, in the many years Doctor Who has been on, whether they've addressed this issue?

Any Doctor fans out there who can provide some insight, or even non-doctor fans who have a theory? :)

(PS. I know this is an odd AskMe question, but I can't get anywhere with google and I figured Christmas is a good time for silly questions!)

Where can I get Jelly Babies in the Twin Cities? I'm looking for some Jelly Babies, and being that the Twin Cities aren't quite the UK, I'm having a hard time finding them. I've also googled for places that may sell marmite in Minneapolis or St. Paul, but still no luck.

Christmas Invasion

In the 2005 episode of Doctor Who titled The Christmas Invasion there was a song near the end that starts "Well I woke up today". The song takes place as The Doctor's 10th personality is choosing his outfit from the stores in the Tardis. Can this song be had in it's entirety anywhere?

Exterminate the Doctor!

So I'm watching the new Dr. Who series and they are dealing with the last of the Daleks, I want to know what happened to the Daleks since Tom Baker was around (possible spoilers inside). In the current episode they mention the Great Time War, in which all of the Timelords and Daleks perished. When did this happen? With which doctor? All I know is that The Master (a Timelord himself) created the Daleks with the sole purpose of elimitating either the Timelords or Dr. Who himeself. What else happened?
