In my old apartment, there was nobody below me, so I didn't worry about he noise that my electronic drumset made. Now I have downstairs neighbors, so I want to find something to put underneath to deaden the sound and keep it from slipping on the hardwood. [more inside]
I have been storing my beloved drum kit at a friend's house for three years. But now I have room for them in my house, so I'm bringing them home. Yay! Alas, my friend recently went through a bedbug episode. What should I do when I bring my drums home to keep the bedbugs out? [more inside]

I bought a set of Roland V-drums recently and I'd like to put together some playlists that focus on basic beats I should be learning as a beginner. The idea is to have each playlist focus on a specific type of beat, starting easier and building in complexity/tempo. I'm mostly into rock music, and my goal right now is to be able to keep a solid groove - nothing fancy.
After 6 years, I'd like to get back into playing drums. I don't currently have a kit and I live in a small walk-up in South Park Slope. Is there anywhere nearby or accessible that I can go to a few times a week to play? Monthly fee would be ideal, but I'd be fine with paying a reasonable hourly rate. [more inside]
Friends, help me compile a list, would you? I'm looking for pop/rock songs that feature very distinctive beats from the drummer. Anything really ear-catching and creative that departs from more ordinary timekeeping, in some fresh way. As an example, one that falls into that category would be the Zombies' Time of the Season. And please include a YouTube (or other) link if you can, since almost any song ever recorded is now on YouTube. Thanking you in advance.
I'm trying to find some music with simple instrumentation and composition with a focus on drums/percussion/heavy guitar and intense/strong vocals. I'm not sure how to describe what I'm looking for, but I do have a couple of examples. I blame the bear for reviving this intense need... [more inside]

Help me search for the way to fix it so that the pattern I hear in Liquid Rhythm gets played on roughly the 'right' drums when I export midi into Addictive Drums. At the moment importing Midi into AD from LR results in stuff played at the right time on unexpected drums. What is fixing this problem called so I can search for a solution? [more inside]

I've finally got a house with a basement, and I'm about to realize a long-held ambition to learn the drums. How should I get started? Should I learn some basics on a practice pad before I shop for a kit, or should I buy the kit I (think I) want? [more inside]
Came across this track and I'm unsure how to categorize it, or even search for more like it other than with vague descriptions like "drum-heavy instrumental." Could someone a little more experienced in drum-based music like this tell me whether this is part of a genre or just a certain sound? (link inside) [more inside]

Recently switched from digital drumset to acoustic. How do we keep them from being picked up by the vocal mics?
We played for years with V-Drums and just recently switched to acoustic drums. We've found that the cymbals get picked up by the vocal mics and distort or drown out the rest of the mix. How do we prevent that? [more inside]

Drummers: I need recommendations for an electronic drum set that is ideal for an apartment in NYC. Also, bonus points for recommendations for small amplifier that I can use when I don't want to play with headphones.
