Asking-for-a-friend filter: One of my closest friends recently began using pot. She told me that she liked it and plans to keep using it. I'm concerned because I dont want to see anything bad to happen to her. Should I be concerned? Can pot cause any serious problems, mentally or physically? Is there much of anything I can do at this point? We are still in high school too. Thanks for any advice you can give me. I really wish to help this friend.

How can I manage H withdrawals and an 8hr plane flight? I know theres other posts up about this on here but nobody has quite the same situation I'm in. I have a plane flight that leaves 6:30am on monday morning, its an 8hr plane flight and I just took my last shot 4 hrs ago today; lately I've been going through anywhere from .2-.5 of black tar everyday, I've never gone over that and I've only been using daily since last thursday (IV'ing since wednesday, smoking before that). I have half of a suboxone and a shit ton of vitamins (L-tyrosine, N-P-K mineral supplement, B-6/12, melatonin, and a multi). My first question: will I be over the worst of it by the time I get on that plane monday morning? Second question: what do you guys think is the best way to stagger all this out to minimize my hurt?

What would be the best way to create an infective agent that caused hallucinations? I was thinking a virus that modifed serotonin to psilocin - but how exactly would this take place in the cell, and how would a hypothetical virus catalyse that process? Is it realistic for a modern virology lab to design such a virus? I considered a bacterial vector, but I figure that bacterial infection of the CNS would probably just straight-up kill you due to the host response? Perhaps a bacterial species that just hangs out in your gut and squirts out psilocin that it synthesises itself, rather than having to methylate free serotonin? I know a fair bit of biochemistry but not much at all about microbiology, if that helps guide your explanations.

Did you quit a bad or unhealthy behavior? How did you do this? My grandfather smoked for years and then one day he just stopped. I hear about some people who have been terrible drunks and one day just quit - and never had another drink. How do they do this? Is it after the last drink or before the next one? Is there a moment when you just say "I'm not doing this anymore" and that's it?
