I've recently had occasion to take a multi-hour drive with someone who who very consistently drove in a matter that felt very dangerous to me. There was a lot of tailgating, sudden lane changing, and more than a few last-second turns. I sat quietly in the back seat. [more inside]

I just moved back home to New York from California. I renewed my NY state drivers license online and received it in the mail today. However, it expires in 1 year on my birthday. Why does it expire so soon? I don't get it. My family members license don't expire for another 4+ years.

I am trying to make my mom's old Brother MFC-4300 printer/scanner/fax work with my Windows 7 machine, to no avail and with many headaches. I don't care about scan or fax; I just want to be able to print from the machine. [more inside]

HP laptop video card issues filter: Video problem with my HP dv6000 (dv6810us) - artifacts appear then increase while watching Hulu, after 30-45 minutes the computer freezes then restarts. Pausing the video then letting the computer sleep for a couple minutes resolves the issue for another 20 minutes of video watching, then it repeats ... bad integrated video? Bad VRAM? Evil monkey? I have a client system that has Vista preinstalled. The client wants XP Pro on the system.
It's a laptop, and the manufacturer (HP) only provides Vista drivers. Will the Vista drivers work in Windows XP?
Is there a hardware-equivalent HP system that is the Windows XP version that I can get drivers for to use on this one? It's an HP DV6235NR.
