I have been driving for two years under permit. I took the written test. I just now have to pass the driving test. I am just as good as my friends who now have driver's license, except I didn't take the test. I am eighteen. Recently, my grandparents told me to get out of their lives, so I have no access to their car. But since I am in LA, it would be convenient if I can get a driver's license and rent a car. I can't drive unless I have a car. But then I can't get my driver's license without a car. I barely have money, so I am on a tight budget. I can't rent a car because I need a driver's license. I also need someone over 21 to watch over me when I drive, but there were no close adults in my life except my grandparents. How the hell do I go about this? Most of my friends don't have cars either, and the ones that do... I am not close enough to borrow their cars. I don't want to overwhelm them with my shitty family situation either. Only if I had a car. I am in Los Angeles.
I have an awful photo of myself on my driver's license. I'd like to have it changed. [more inside]
What's the best way to fix my driver's side mirror? [more inside]
Which driver's seat. To my surprise, replacement automobile driver's seat -baby -infant didn't google up anything useful. Surely there's a widely-held opinion as to which junkyard car seats are the best! [more inside]
Last night on the Tonight Show Conan did a bit on his driver's licenses in New York and LA. The address shown on his cards seemed to be studio addresses (Rock center and Universal Studios) and not home addresses like most people. My question is, do celebrities have some sort of special arrangement where they don't disclose their personal addresses on their ID cards? [more inside]
How do I find out my previous driver's license #? I traded in my out of state because it expired, but zipcar needs to know my previous DL # to see my past driving history. Can't find it, I feel like maybe you can't just call the dmv and ask for it.
Easiest state for teen driver's license? I am being deployed to the middle east. My son is 16, but in my state a teen has to have a learner's permit for a year before s/he can drive by themselves. This hasn't been an issue, but now he will be the only driver in the family stateside. Which state will give a teen a license (as unrestricted as possible) on their 16th birthday? Any suggestions?
