Our lemon tree delivered a pretty decent crop this year and I'd like to do something with them. [more inside]
Have you ever read ”The third man "by Green? Here is a sentence. "One mix one's drinks." Like, "He told me vaguely that he had been mixing his drinks." Or " If you stayed around in a hotel- lounge, sooner or later incidents occurred; one mixed one's drinks." Or, ...he firmly explained to me, when I accused him of once again mixing his drinks." Well, what hidden meaning does it have and is it common expression for native speakers to imply .. something?

I'm in TO for a week for work and have evenings free, could any locals suggest a nice somewhere to get a cocktail? [more inside]
I'm curious about the regional preferences expressed in one's choice of hot alcoholic beverage in cold weather. Less "give me your recipe," more "where are you from, what do you drink, and what do you call it?" [more inside]
I tried to see if I could infuse some bland mixing gin (Gordon's ) with more of the aggressive, 'gin-y' spice flavor I like. So I threw in juniper berries, mulling mix (cinnamon, allspice, orange peel, etc) cardamon pods, lemon peel, and peppercorn and let them sit. Now I have a spicy, cardamon-y, assertive, and very bitter tawney gin. What can I mix with this/how can I use it? [more inside]

Can you find/recommend a brand or type of gin that is definitely made without any orris root? Browsing online thus far has indicated that gin is "often" made with orris, which makes me think there must be some without, but I haven't found any yet. I need it to help test a friend's incipient gin allergy, to try and figure out which botanical is the culprit. [more inside]
So I've been gifted a bottle of some hopped gin. What would be a great use of it? What to drink with it? I like gin, and I like hops, so I'm hoping something that makes it special. I'm just feeling like it would be a waste with just tonic. I'm not an amateur, so don't worry about complexity or technique.
I recently bought a Mastrad Purefizz, which easily carbonates 750ml (roughly a wine bottle's worth) of just about anything. My goal is to create drinks to sip on at night, and I'm particularly interested in non alcoholic ideas (but that's not essential). I'm clueless about what tastes good with what, so I need your help! [more inside]
I'm going to a Memorial Day pool party, and I'm planning on making this peach-rosemary white sangria. Problem is, I need to buy gin and I don't know anything about gin. Please help! [more inside]
Now that our class is over, the other students would like to "go out for drinks." I have never "gone out for drinks," nor have I ever gone out with a group of people I do not know particularly well. What do I do? [more inside]

Tapioca balls in drinks. Also known as boba. I recently saw a bar advertising alcoholic drinks WITH boba in them. And I said "Well that's dumb. Anyone can do that. Why not put the booze IN the boba?" To which a friend said "well that's impossible." And I said, "Oh yeah? Well I'm going to do it." And then I realized I know nothing about this. So to you. Can booze be injected into a tapioca ball? Can they be soaked in booze? Would that work? Would they soak it up? What would be the best way to make booze filled bobas?
I have six specialty cocktails we are serving at a party in July, but don't know what to call them. The drinks will be featured as hourly specials, one at a time. [more inside]
A friend of mine who can't drink for the near future wanted to meet up with me at a bar/restaurant (in the US) for my birthday. I'd like to help make it be totally awesome for her by suggesting amazing non-alcoholic drinks that would (figuratively) knock her socks off. What do you recommend? (This will be at a bar that basically tends to have everything, although right now they are out of bitters.) I've reviewed older posts along these lines, but was curious to know what else might be available. Thanks!
I have a date with my visiting from out of town stepsister this Sunday and she wants to go see some live jazz but nothing too avant guard. Please help me look cool by recommending somewhere we could go. She's a music teacher and plays a couple instruments so unlike me she probably knows good from bad. Nice cocktails would be a plus and ideally not to far out as she's staying at a hotel in Times Square.
My partner and I are about spend the next two weeks camping in a fairly remote national park in Tasmania. We are bringing a bottle of gin because we like it and being compact it can come in by boat with our other supplies. We can buy limited other supplies before we leave to mix with it. Other than that we will have access to (possibly rather mediocre) tank water and a decent camp kitchen. So please give us all your creative gin cocktail recipes that can be prepared with limited ingredients in the middle of nowhere. We will toast you as we drink them!
Hoping some of the boozier denizens of MeFi might have some good suggestions for a couple holiday cocktails. [more inside]

Where can I get Babycham in NYC? Either by the glass in a bar, or for purchase by the bottle. Mail order is fine, too. I'm not looking for any substitutes or similar products... I want the prancing deer!
My favorite drink is a Tanqueray and tonic and has been since I was young. In the US, especially as a teenager, people told me that it was a cranky old man drink while marveling at how it glowed under blacklight. I traveled to London once, and a guy there told me that it was a "chick drink". I, of course, don't let what people think of it affect what tasty, tasty alcohol delivery vehicle I choose, but where you are, what's the "reputation" of gin-based drinks? Are they "manly" or "girly"? And how did it gain that reputation? I'm holding a gimlet right now because I've run out of tonic water.

Is it possible to get Bionade in the USA? I am intrigued by their products and understand that they are very popular in Europe, but my google-fu fails me trying to find a U.S. distribution source. Can anyone hook me up?
My birthday's coming up, and I'm looking for a place near Dupont Circle (DC) to get together with friends and co-workers after work on a Friday where many of us can have dinner, but which will also smoothly accomodate some people coming in and out for drinks only (and people ordering their apps and/or entrees at different times.) Basically I'd like to be there for at least 2 to 3 hours but for it to be no problem for some people to come late or leave early, and for people to feel equally welcome either to stop by for a few drinks or to arrive at any point, have dinner and stick around to possibly continue elsewhere afterwards. I'm looking for recommendations for hot chocolate mixes which don't require you to add them to milk (it's probably best if they already contain the milk, but that's not required as long as it doesn't taste thin and watery when you put it in hot water). I'm not lactose intolerant, but I don't usually have milk around, plus it's much easier & more convenient to heat up water. [more inside]
