I will shortly be introducing a friend of mine to Second Life. She's an academic, and will be most interested in locations in SL that are related to the teaching of art (especially drawing and cartooning) and the teaching of writing. I would be most grateful for any suggestions anyone might have of locations we could visit.

My robot-that-can-draw-stuff idea has been patented and designed and prototyped to death hundreds of times, but never (to my knowledge) developed into a full scale product. Has anyone built something I can buy? Even a kit? [more inside]

I feel like I've seen a drawing of William Shakespeare (in the style of the traditional "plates") doing the Uncle Sam Wants YOU! Pose. Did I imagine this, or can someone help me find it? I have Googled, but apparently our fu is weak. That, or I am imagining this. Thanks.

Someone has gone out of their way to try and sell a friend of mine the linked drawing, claiming that it was a preliminary drawing (left) before the final print was produced (right), done by Salvatore Dali. If anyone could please provide any other information regarding this image, or its validity, help would be much appreciated! The claim is that the left is an original, and the right is a print. Also, as far as I know this image has no name, so I am unable to find out anything about it, but then again - I know nothing about art. Thanks for your help!

A while back, a friend of mine introduced me to Kurt Halsey Frederiksen and I immediately fell in love with his work. Since then, I've been on the hunt for artists who have an equally "simple," yet beautiful and eloquent style. Can any of you recommend artists in a similar vein? (Preferably with online galleries or printed books of their art that I could purchase.) [more inside]
