Firefox 3 bookmark toolbar pop-up folder DELAY possible?

Firefox 3. Do you use the bookmark bar? Do you drag and drop bookmarks within it? If so, this Q is for YOU: How do we delay the menu DURING drag+drop operations?? The way firefox is currently setup, i can use this method (http://ask.metafilter.com/40700/Firefox-menu-delay) to delay the menus when browsing my drop-down bookmarks+folders from the bookmark toolbar normally. That was a great help!!!

But unfortunately, when you drag and drop items into or within the bookmark toolbar dropdowns, this delay does not appear to function.

It is soo frustrating to go 3-4 levels deep in a drop down menu, hovering over each subfolder to get it to pop up, and then any slight movement off the menu (even for a nano-second) will close up EVERYTHING and require me to start over. Its like playing a maze game where you can't touch the sides or you lose!

If just I had a 2 second delay in there when im dragging and about to drop, it would greatly improve the user experience.

(I'm aware I can use bookmarking menus, or the big bookmark manager to reorganize, but I prefer not having to take any extra steps.)

Any idea on a D+D delay?

Thanks

How do I backup/copy just the new stuff?

I recently did a Dumb Backup of my media library -- just bought another drive and copied the whole thing over. Since then, in the working library I've added a number of items within the general directory structure. Now I want to copy over just the new stuff to the backup drive, with everything winding up in the same-named directories over on that one. How do I do it? I'm using XP. Basically, I want to drag the media folder from Drive A to Drive B, and have it ignore the files on A:/ that already exist on B:/, whilst copying the new files from A to B.

For example, in drive A let's say I have folders called mp3s/Led Zeppelin/Led Zeppelin I/ and mp3s/Led Zeppelin/Led Zeppelin II/ but in drive B I only have mp3s/Led Zeppelin/Led Zeppelin I/. I want to drag the mp3/ folder from drive A to drive B and have it copy over the Led Zeppelin II/ folder and place it within the pre-existing mp3s/Led Zeppelin/ folder, while knowing to ignore the Led Zeppelin I/ folder on drive A since it already exists on drive B.

Now that I've made my situation clear as mud, what's the easiest way to do what I want to do?

scrip.taculo.us Draggables

JavaScript:— I want to call a function to make a scrip.taculo.us Draggable revert (fly back to its starting position). This is easy to do if you want it to revert when it is released from the drag, but I want it to happen when a different Draggable is released from a drag. During a survey, the user is presented with 5 big boxes (Droppables) labeled with subjects, and 5 small boxes (Draggables) labelled "1st", "2nd" etc. The user drags the ranks to the big boxes to rank the subjects in importance. When the user drags a rank into a box that already has a rank in it, I want the rank Draggable that is already there to revert back to its starting position.

There may be better UI ways of doing this whole thing. A Sortable list is an obvious solution, but we need to distinguish between a user who has accepted the default ranking order that was given to them, and a user who has just ignored the question. A "confirm my answer" button would be kinda lame, because none of our other questions require more than one submission button to be clicked, and it might confuse the user. Other suggestions would be great.

Drag and drop across browser windows?

Web dev Q: Is there a way to figure out what has been dragged and dropped from one browser window to another? Suppose I have 2 Firefox windows. Window 1 contains an HTML page with an image on it. If I drag+drop the image from window 1 to window 2, Firefox knows that it should open the image in window 2. If the image was linked to a webpage, then it instead opens the linked page in window 2.

I'd like to be able to do the "window 2" part in my own web app. The user could drag and drop any image from any website onto my web app's page. My web app would then figure out what has just been dropped (image URL or linked page URL) and act on it, without the event propagating to Firefox's default behavior.

Is this possible? I've looked online, and it looks like the only way to do it is to have a signed Java applet, as box.net does. Any other way you can think of, using Javascript, Flash, etc.? Would a Firefox extension perhaps be an answer? Thanks for your help.
