Let's say I spend long hours staring at a computer screen where some of the fonts are too small and I have no way of increasing them, which creates a diabolical eye-strain device of reasonable fonts mixed in with unreasonable system fonts. I normally have no vision problems otherwise. Is this going to damage my eyesight if I keep it up? (Medical opinions and links to medical articles welcome). And is Leopard's "resolution independence" or anything else in Leopard going to bring OSX near to where XP is in terms of being able to increase the system fonts without lowering the resolution? (I'm using a Macbook Pro).

I have dual monitors (one large CRT and one small laptop screen.) Is it possible to get separate DPIs on each monitor, or at the very least display different font sizes by default on each monitor in Win XP Pro?

Filmscanner 101. Is there any advantage to setting the *input* resolution for scans intended for monitor display to anything greater than 72dpi? The default input resolutions on my scanner vary with the dimensions selected for the output file. Bigger output files require higher input resolutions (from 704dpi to 1759dpi). As everything will be displayed at 72dpi, why not *scan* everything at 72dpi? It all looks the same to me on my screen.

I've heard from 3 different people that you can't use images from the web in print media because all images on the web are 72dpi. Is this true? [more inside] [more inside]
