Into every driver's lap, a lot of rain must fall....

I have a 2009 Ford Focus SE, 4-door, manual transmission. The driver's side door leaks in the rain and three trips to the dealer have not resolved the problem. I have little faith that yet another trip to the dealer will help. Do you have a specific suggestion to instruct the dealer with? Or how should I go about going over their heads to someone higher in the Ford hierarchy, if that seems to be in order? Details inside to describe my lack of confidence and puzzlement about what to do... [more inside]

Foiled by the cost of aluminum

I've got this aluminum alley door (28" x 70" avec mounting door post), that I don't want. I'm told solid aluminum doors like this are expensive, which made me wonder if I could sell it. Which, because I can't seem to find anything comparable on the net, brings me in turn to my question: what should I ask for it when I post it on Craig's List? And if there's a better way to sell it than Craig's List (such as selling it to a scrap dealer), please enlighten me.

How do I keep light from coming underneath my bedroom door and the Roomba from shutting it?

Locking doorknobs - can default settings be changed?

My 8-yr-old house has Schlage doorknobs, of the type with a lock in the middle of the knob. When the lever in the middle of the knob is pushed and turned, door is locked. (Vertical position = unlocked, horizontal = locked) When you turn the knob, even if the door is locked, you can still get out (good for emergencies). Problem is, when you do that, the door does not unlock permanently. So visitors are sure to lock themselves out! In other words, it works like a hotel room door. Is there a way to change the default setting, such that even if you lock the knob, once you turn the knob to open the door the latch UNLOCKS? (I tried to find a picture online but cannot find one)

Door-window coverings in a rental?

The house I'm renting has uncovered windows in the front and back, which aren't ideal privacy-wise. What's this plastic garbage called, and can I replace it and not the whole door?

I'm moving out of a house I'd rented, and my dogs at one point had eaten the plastic "trim" pieces that are on the outside of the back door, which is your average metal-framed swinging with a big full-length dual-paned glass window. the damage isn't really to the door or the glass; it's to this stupid plastic trim that's around and within the glass that makes up a grid of squares. I don't know what this trim is called. Bonus question: Can I just replace the trim and not the door? Home Depot was, unsurprisingly, unhelpful.

how to mount plexiglas on stainless steel fridge?

I have a stainless steel fridge and a toddler who is learning to walk. I want to mount a sheet of plexiglas over the bottom portion of the door to prevent it from getting dented. I would like this to look decent and be non-permanent so I can remove it when we eventually move. Any ideas on how I could do this? All I can think of is using some kind of tape, but I think that would sag after a while. Bonus for suggestions on how to also stick stuff to the plexiglas so that I can post up my kid's artwork (the stainless steel is non-magnetic).
