Should I be worried about a blood count issue?

I regularly give blood in the UK and am currently taking part in an interval study, which involves studying the donors' blood. Yesterday, I received a letter from the organisers of the study that includes the rather alarming sentence, "We have noticed that part of your blood count is outside the range we would have expected." The letter then says, "There are no urgent issues regarding your health. However, we would like to take a second sample and recheck your blood count." Should I be worried? [more inside]

Help me give my stroller away!

We've had to switch to a double stroller (buggy/ pushchair), for obvious reasons, but still have our single stroller - a fairly sought-after model, particularly useful for public transport - in very good condition. It's had heavy use, but it isn't destroyed by any means (details inside). Please help me find a useful way to donate our stroller to an organisation that needs strollers in the London (UK) area. Which international labour rights charity should I donate to?

I would like to donate money to an international labour rights group on an ongoing basis, but I'm having a hard time picking one. Charity Navigator has been of little help. I've looked at International Labor Rights Forum, Clean Clothes Campaign, No Sweat, and Fair Wear Foundation. Do you know if one of these groups is more effective or better-run than the others? Do you have suggestions for other groups I might consider? Charities I should stay away from? [more inside]

Appropriate donation for a dinner in a restaurant in a new location?

We're going to a restaurant that is just moving to a new location. At their old location they charged $115 for the type of dinner we're having (chef's tasting with wine pairings) and were successful and well-reviewed. This is their pre-opening week, and they say they have a few wrinkles to iron out so are asking for donations at diners' discretion to help cover costs. What would be an appropriate amount -- or range, depending on how it goes? [more inside]

How can I purchase/donate/ship computers to a Third World school?

How can I go about purchasing computers to donate to a school in a developing country? That is, a _specific_ school -- the woman in my life is in the Peace Corps, and one of her dreams since she's been there has been to find some way to update the ancient computers at the school where she teaches. (This goal is shared by local teachers and administrators at the school.) This sort of targeted giving seems to fall outside the scope of most charities I've looked into, such as OLPC. Are there organizations suited to this kind of project, or which could offer advice on handling this (from the U.S.) as an individual? Is the latter remotely feasible? If so, what should I keep in mind, as far as insurance, taxes, shipping, customs, etc.? [more inside]

Getting rid of a gas stove in good condition

I have a gas stove in good condition that I want to get rid of. Salvation Army's donation pickup line in my area (Boston) never answers my calls and never returns my messages. What other options do I have? Also, I was told by the stove salesman that selling the stove wasn't a good idea because I'd be liable if the purchaser hooked it up wrong and poisoned or exploded themselves. Is this true, or was it just FUD?

Non-profit payment service

I am working with a non-profit co-op that would like to take payments from its members online.
