Help me pick a professional domain name for email. All reasonable combinations of my name are already taken (the same goes for GoogleMail addresses). I'd like to avoid firstnamelastnameUK01321@googlemail.com if I can. I'm going to be using it mainly on CVs. [more inside]

Say you've got a domain and a server, but the account didn't come with any POP3 setup. Assuming you're not going to abandon that hosting provider for one reason or another, what's the best 3rd party POP account provider? And is this a huge headache?

Is there such a thing as a Web site where you can type in the name of a particular organization or domain, and find out what e-mail scheme they assign their employees? Let's say you're trying to locate John Smith at the fictitious Omni Product Corporation...then you could look up the company and find out whether they typically give out addresses that are "john.smith@omniproduct.com," "johnsmith@...," "js,"...etc.? I realize this sounds like a spam apocalypse, but it would be so useful.

Out of the blue, my domain began receiving hundreds of bogus e-mails sent to bogus addresses. My webhost is classifying it as a Denial of Service attack, but has disabled my e-mail access in the meantime. What can I do to solve this problem?

Perhaps a useless and/or redundant question, but... Sleazoid off-shore prescription drug pushers are spamming using faked addresses on my domain. Is there anything I can do to stop this practice, or am I just another cog in the great wheel of spam?

In the last three days I've had 150 emails - 140 of which have been message failures from AOL. They think I've been sending spam emails from random addresses on my domain to random addresses on their domain.

Strangely, I've had no complaints from people about how I am spamming them, but the domain is non-obvious and not advertised on the web. What the hell is happening?
