We've got a new puppy and he's an adorable border-collie lab mix. He's about 8 weeks old. He's going to be an indoor dog and we're anxious to get him trained and trained well for all of our happiness. Still, we're like to keep it cheap. Can you recommend some good, free, video sites that teach puppy training in specific? Thanks!

I recently adopted a 2 yr. old Shih Tzu from the pound. He's been to the vet and has a clean bill of health. He's settled very well into things here and I'd like to start working on training him. After reading about several different methods I find clicker training the most interesting but I've never done it before. Anyone have any suggestions or tips? [more inside]

Hello, gifted people. I have a library patron whose dog has been diagnosed with mucopolysaccharidosis, aka Hunter Syndrome. She is pursuing an experimental bone marrow treatment plan that has helped other dogs with this rare condition, but in the meantime her dog is limited to foods that have no triglycerides, polysaccharides, or mucopolysaccharides. Her question: are there any foods in the carbohydrate family that are NOT triglycerides, polysaccharides, or mucopolysaccharides? Or, to rephrase in maybe a simpler manner, are there any carbs that her dog can eat with this mucopolysaccharidosis disease? [more inside]

My previously relatively benign aversion to dogs has become cripplingly intense in the last few months, to the point that I can't make it to my house's front door without being accompanied. I'm living in Indonesia, and don't know enough of the language to express my absolute, mortal terror or where to find English-language psychological help. I really need some help here: how can I go home at night? [more inside]
