Help our broken dog sleep

Our dog goes through cycles of at first liking a crate and then not tolerating it at all--whining, scratching, growling, and moaning. When Sparky's unhappy, nobody sleeps. I'm out of ideas and I'm looking for new things to try. [more inside]

Grass, the natural prey of the miniature poodle.

If it is her, I'd like to note that the whole point of the lawn was so that she could do her business out there. We'll get her a potty pad and encourage her not to go on the grass, but I'm doubtful that she'll always go where we want. [more inside]

Tonight we're faced with a difficult choice between a night of wailing or her fouling our bed... [more inside]
