Help me think straight. I was attacked by a loose German Shepherd while out on a walk with my husband and our two small leashed dogs. What should I do next? The owner is in denial and I am concerned for the safety of myself and others. I think that if I threaten a lawsuit I could scare her into building a fence and reinforcing her door. I'm interested in getting her to take action to keep her dog enclosed or to take it to a behaviorist, not trying to win money in a settlement. [more inside]

We recently purchased a home with a large backyard and a pool. The yard is fenced. I need a temporary fence for my dogs until it warms up and we can fix any spots the littlest dog can slip through. What should I get for a temporary fence? [more inside]

Our driveway is on a very small incline. At the bottom of the driveway, which exits onto the street, is a gate attached to our fence. The gate swings inwards, so when the gate is closed, there is a small gap at the bottom to accommodate the incline when it's fully open. Our dog can escape out of this gap. Other than plugging it with a long piece of scrap wood while we're out with him, how can we solve this problem? [more inside]

How do I keep two active young dogs with good jumping ability a) from being bitten by snakes b) active and happy while I am away during the day on a property of about 20 acres? What's it roughly going to cost me?

Stairs (wood) lead from backyard up to outdoor deck (wood). Dog can run up. Want to install something to keep dog in yard, with stairs remaining usable, without hiring expensive contractor. Thoughts? [more inside]

My dog is starting to roam. Anyone have experience with electric dog fences? How well did they work for you?

I'm looking for an invisible fence for our 15 pound Schnoodle. Are the store-bought models sufficient, or should we go with a professionally installed system (i.e. these folks
)? Do they work when there's snow on the ground?
