I live in Ontario. I'd like to write to some government body praising my oral surgeon, who is so amazing it should be on record somewhere for anyone researching him in the future. Should I do this, and who should I send the letter to? He's DDS, MD, FRCD(C), Dip. ABOMS.

I'm a doctor in private practice. I love to blog, just not about medicine. I like to do more personal writing, post photos and links, creative projects, write about recent trips, my city, etc (i.e. nothing political, offensive).
How would you feel if you found your doctor's personal blog? [more inside]

I am seeing my doctor tomorrow about quitting smoking. I have tried quitting so many times I can no longer keep count. But nicotine has this tremendous hold on me. I have smoked for almost four years and would like to see my 29th birthday as a turning point. What questions should I be asking my doctor and what questions should I be prepared to answer?

I need a doctor in the Seattle area who can do something for my knee. It's a ten year old injury (to the meniscus/patella I think), surgery didn't correct it. I'm open to traditional medicine, acupuncture, massage, voodoo, anything that works. Does anyone have recommendations?

I'm a 25 year old fella looking for a good general practitioner in Austin. "Good" doesn't mean someone who will medicate me with whatever I want and send me on my way, but someone who pays attention to his patients and their needs. Preferably north, but it's not a deal breaker. I'll mostly be going for chronic headaches, if that makes any difference either. Suggestions?

I just had a HORRIBLE HORRIBLE experience with a doctor. This is the reason most people do NOT go to doctors. It kinda makes me not want to go to a doctor.
Let me give you the whole story so you can assess the situation, get really mad, and provide me with constructive advice. If you don't feel like reading it all, scroll to the bottom and tell me what I should do if I am unsatisfied with the quality of care from a doctor. [more inside]

I don't have a history of ADD but things became fairly complicated lately and I'm certain after doing hours of research that that I have some form of adult ADD.
My doctor is refusing to prescribe anything and believes the only reason I am stressed is because of work/school/family. He suggested taking vitamins and getting more sleep.
What gives? What are my options besides switching to a different doctor?

Disclaimer: I know you aren't my doctor, and I've made an appointment with a doctor for next week, but I'd like to make sure that I'm ok not going to an emergency room (I can't afford to if it's not necessary, which I don't think it is). Also, warning: slightly gruesome/gross if you are squeamish. [more inside]

Will the Korean doctor rob me blind?? Here's the long and short of it... my father is the doctor that pioneered tumescent liposuction. he teaches his techniques to other doctors on a regular basis and manufactures the tools and equipment involved with the procedure.
Recently, a doctor from Korea, I'll call him Dr. Lee, took my father's course and liked it so much that he expressed an interest in teaching the course in Korea and to sell my fathers products in his courses. My father is very interested, but feels concerned that he must submit all of his technical files to Dr. Lee so that he can submit them in an application to the Korean FDA for approval. [more inside]

I'm a male in my mid-twenties, active, and have been for the most part healthy. A few months ago I started getting some strange symptoms, and pain in one of my testicles. I was uninsured so I went to the doctor anonymously
and paid cash. His thoughts were it was probably just a standard infection, and gave me some antibiotics and told me to come back if the pain persisted. Around that time I also went to an anonymous city clinic to see if it could be an STD and everything up until then checked out OK. There was a test *Syphilis that I hadn't called back on for results, I did so today and they said the test was negative as well, but there was "something else was going on".. Apparently, the second part of the Syphilis test showed them this. I also asked again about the STD related stuff and they said all that was fine. [more inside]

Help my son get his Tardis
on. I'm currently decorating my 7 year old sons bedroom, and he is a big Doctor Who fan. He has asked me for a giant (I guess 6 ft) tardis on one wall of his painted bedroom.
My initial thought was to paint - but I don't have the requisite skills really, so I was looking for a Fathead
equivalent. I'm not sure the custom option on WallBangers will allow me to use a copyright image.
Do you have any other recommendations for giant Tardis resources? Or maybe a suggestion to get a large scale picture onto a bedroom wall - I'm in the UK if it makes a difference.

My mom was recently diagnosed with breast cancer, which sucks in many, many ways, not the least of which is that it seems that it could have been caught by her mammogram two years ago, but wasn't, possibly because the technician ignored information in her chart. She is now being encouraged by others to sue for malpractice, considering that her cancer has now had two extra years to progress. I'm wondering if she actually has a case, and if so, how should she proceed. This is kind of a long story, so there's more inside... [more inside]
