YNMD. I have been trying to get pregnant with my spouse for 6 months. My period, while irregular, is several days late from my longest cycle, multiple home pregnancy tests have been negative, and I don't really know what to do next. More medical history & some planned next steps below. With this ask, I am looking for advice about what to ask my doctor/next steps I should take. [more inside]

Can you recommend a smart, experienced male endocrinologist in Manhattan, preferably Flatiron area? [more inside]
My left eyelid has been swollen for about a year. Last year I had my first bout of eczema (atopic dermatitis) that hit my left eyelid. I went to the doctor thinking it was an eye infection, and was prescribed a 2% hydrocortisone creme. That seemed to work, but I have been dealing with on-and-off eczema in various spots ever since. However my left eyelid later got infected, and I went to my dermatologist and got some antibiotics which took care of it-- but the swelling never fully went away. It's not active eczema, it's not infected... my dermatologist and opthamologist have no idea and no suggestions. It isn't red or painful or itchy, and I haven't noticed anything that makes it worse or better food-wise. I definitely notice it's swollen, I can feel it when my eye is open. It's also very apparent in the mirror and in photos. Any ideas on what this is or what to do about it? Or even what kind of doctor to see?
Who is a dependable, open-minded family doctor near the Flatiron District in Manhattan? [more inside]
Just asking because my boyfriend is a doctor and says he is clean (my heart trusts him but my head wants him to take a test.) [more inside]
When I was a very young kid in the 60's, doctors' offices often had these detailed calendars with tiny elves or hobbity kind of creatures hanging on the wall. I think they were issued by a drug company, but my Google skills are failing to find them. Anyone remember these and can you supply a link to examples? Cheers.
My wife and I are looking for a doctor or clinic in the Seattle area with expertise in diagnosing and treating fibromyalgia. [more inside]

My SO, who has been diagnosed with Hashimoto's, is seeking a new primary care physician or endocrinologist, preferably in the Alameda/Oakland/Berkeley area. [more inside]
Hi, our favorite pediatrician is moving to a practice out in the far suburbs. We really like her, but it probably makes sense to find someone not so far from where we live. We live in south Minneapolis so someone in the city or a first-ring suburb would be ideal. As a non-doctor, I find it hard to evaluate anyone's medical skills, but we obviously want someone good who also has a rapport with children. We ask lots of questions (we are curious worriers) so a doctor who likes explaining things to parents would be great.
The doctor who has been my wonderful GP for 20 years is retiring. I want to send her a note expressing appreciation for her excellent care, and I'd like to include an appropriate quotation or short poem. Any suggestions?
My PCP has decided to discontinue prescribing my (long-standing, very stable) ADHD medication. I pretty much just want to continue with the meds that have worked for me, with a minimum of additional trouble, expense and extra time. How can I find a new provider without seeming sketchy or drug-seeking? [more inside]
I'd like to get baseline blood testing from Wellness FX. Is there a way to get my new doc to prescribe this test as preventative? [more inside]
I need to get an MRI and my insurance wants my doctor's office to send them a notification, otherwise I'll be subject to a financial penalty. However, I'm not sure my doctor's office knows how to file one of those, and I'm fairly new to medical/insurance snags, and so don't know how to proceed. [more inside]

An in-network doctor works at an out-of-network practice, and chose to bill me as out-of-network so the insurance company paid more--but she also didn't bill me anything. I feel weird. Now what? [more inside]
I finally got up the nerve to phone a trans friendly doctor and have a meet and greet appointment next week to see if she'll take me on as a patient and help me on the road to transitioning. I'm at a loss about what to say and how to explain a few things. Help? [more inside]
I'm a woman and I have occasional pain in the area of my lower left back and what might be my left ovary and reproductive areas in general. I haven't gone to my doctor about it because the symptoms seem kind of vague, but darnit, it hurts. What information should I give her? (And do you have any ideas about what's going on?) [more inside]

I have 5 thyroid nodules that are over a centimeter. So the next step is a thyroid scan, where they inject radioactive iodine into a vein in my arm and then hold my head and neck in an uncomfortable position while they scan it and see which nodules are likely to be cancer. I'm wondering if anyone has had this procedure and has feedback, and also if I'd be better off at another doctor. [more inside]
I'm having an MRI on my knee late Monday afternoon to see if I might need surgery on a possible cartilage problem. The cost will be a financial hardship, and I have a question about how to discuss that. Also, I got multiple opinions from doctors, and I have a question about how to handle that. [more inside]
I had a really hard week with being really fatigued and I want to go to a doc and get my thyroid checked again, plus I will need to re-up my Synthroid prescription soon anyway. I'm looking for a family doctor in Toronto for my mother. Some of the doctors on the College of Physicians and Surgeons search page only have hospital associations, with no private practise (e.g., this one). Do these doctors accept patients, or do they just do inpatient/emergency/other hospital work? [more inside]
I just got an email from my doctor's office telling me they have "received a non-credible threat." They say they've notified the police and they're putting extra security on, but have given me the option to reschedule. I am a little thrown by the fact that they've emailed me when it is allegedly non-credible. Has anyone else had this happen and what did you do? [more inside]

Earlier this week somebody found me passed out on the floor. From there, I got dragged in to see the doctor, who ran some tests (all negative so far). That's not the problem. The problem is: I feel ashamed and guilty, like I'm making this all up, despite that the objective facts are that I fainted, my blood pressure was found to be 50/40 (after fluids), and that I have a history of syncope. This is a probably a minor doctor issue, but I'm having a hard time figuring out if I should make a complaint or not. Mostly, I don't want to make a complaint if it would not be taken seriously. Content within. [more inside]

I take alprazolam to help fall asleep, 2 right before bed. This was prescribed by my sleep specialist doctor (more on that inside). My doctor is now acting strangely over it and changed my dose on refill without telling me. I'm not sure how to talk to him over this, without the risk of being seen as a drug seeker. [more inside]

Asking for a friend in Asheville NC: Looking for recommendations for a female primary care doctor that is good working with patients who have complex problems including fibromyalgia. (They don't have to be an expert but familiar with the issues and comfortable referring out and coordinating with specialists) Bonus if you know that they are taking new patients.
My doctor covers the basics well and is caring, but isn't a great communicator. Is that a dealbreaker? [more inside]
