DnB in Ibiza

I hope this isn't too niche -- I'm trying to find a Drum and Bass club/night/room in Ibiza at the end of September. Know anything about this? I'm going to be in Ibiza Sept 26 through 29. I'd love to hear some DnB while I'm there, but can't find much information on the web. Maybe you know something I don't!

That boy needs therapy

What are some of your favorite obscure electronic music singles? I'm looking for the kind of stuff where an otherwise unremarkable or unrecognized artist managed to release one perfect song. I am not interested in one-hit wonders as Wikipedia defines it -- I don't care if the song was ever popular or a club hit, just that it's good and interesting. Songs that creep onto your playlists despite not knowing or liking anything else by the same band are what I'm looking for, perhaps an excellent remix that managed to redeem a weak song. I tend towards artists such as Negativland, Lionrock, Aphex Twin, Prefuse 73, Amon Tobin, Girl Talk, DNTEL, Autechre, Avalanches, Jason Forrest, etc. but am looking for stuff far off the Pandora similarity radar.

How to plan an awesome trip to europe in less than a month?

TravelFilter: A friend and I have about a month to plan a 7-10 day trip to Europe (travel window is around early July), and are in need of some advice. I've been overseas only with family, and he's never been at all. Good dancing is a must. I know a bit of French and he a bit of Spanish. Suggestions of places to go, safe but cheap lodging, especially with the weak dollar? There's so much to experience that it's hard for us to whittle down what sort of trip to take. I'd love to go dancing -- but not a tourist-type club -- perhaps to even an outdoor festival. We both agree on ragga/jungle/dnb and generally interesting beats (def not four to the floor). Since we'd expect to hit different cities (and theoretically, countries), any packing suggestions would also be welcome. I simply don't know where to begin!! Thank you, hive brain:)

Show Me the World of Drum and Bass

I can't get enough of Pendulum's release Hold Your Colour. What else might I like? Specifically, I keep playing the tracks Slam, Fasten Your Seatbelt, and Another Planet (as well as Blood Sugar, released seperately) over and over, though honestly there's not a single track on the release that I don't like. I like it so much, in fact, that Hold Your Colour was my first music purchase in over 3 years.

But I know my tendency to over-play newly found music, and I don't want to find myself getting sick of Pendulum 3-4 weeks from now. The other problem is that "drum and bass" is almost as vague as "jazz", in that it defines a style, but not a particular sound, so I'm having trouble finding similar artists.

What other artists, releases, and tracks should I look at if I want some of the same intense, high-energy drum and bass tracks?

Looking for DNB artists/tracks similar to the Brookes Brothers' Hard Knocks... Looking for DNB artists/tracks similar to the Brookes Brothers' Hard Knocks - major key, upbeat, etc...
Who's making good breakcore lately?

Who's carrything the breakcore/gabber/drill'n'bass/whatever torch these days? On their latest albums, Kid 606 sounds like he's taken up seconal, Venetian Snares sounds jazz-operatic, and Squarepusher plays a real drum kit (somewhat poorly). I really liked all these albums, for the record, but I'm looking for some new material that would fit in with the old woofer-wreckin' days of Down With the Scene or Go Plastic.

I'm not picky about the electronica subgenre, but it's important that it be: fast, dark, noisy, new, and *beat driven*. No lollygagging ambience or prolonged pointless screeching, if possible, and no (shudder) happy hardcore.

Lots of bonus points for highlighting a strandout track or two.
