Hoo boy....

[EtiquetteFilter] My mother and stepfather divorced about 8 months ago. They had been together for 28 years. Dating someone going through a divorce

Young-divorcée-dating-filter. How do you do it without getting hurt? She (24) likes me (32) Her 4-year-old daughter likes me. Her mother and sister like me. Marriage compatibility

I recall reading (online maybe) an article that discussed something like the top 8 things that a couple needs to be in agreement upon for the greatest chance of a successful marriage. Money was obviously one of them, but I'd like to see the whole list again. Ring any bells?

Whose baby pictures are they?

My parents divorced when I was a toddler, with virtually all my baby pictures plus many hours of movies (including birth, first steps, etc.) going to the non-custodial parent. For a variety of painful reasons, I have been long estranged from that parent, as well as that entire branch of the family. And that is of the good. Yet it would mean so much to be able to fill in the blank slate of my childhood with images and sounds. Am I wrong for feeling as though morally this collection belongs to me? Does a child, especially an estranged child, have the right to ask for their baby pictures? And how, precisely, do I ask such a favor of a person from whom I want absolutely no other contact? Divorce, Separation, and Immigation from Russia to the UK

Hi all -- no doubt you've all heard this tale before, the storybook boy meets girl, girl moves back to Russia, boy serenades girl for 2 years, girl gets married to boy in UK, boy then becomes complacent and arrogant and ignores girl, girl leaves boy but doesn't officially separate, time passes, girl moves on and starts new life in new city, meets new boy and decide to get married; boy when hearing this short circuits and makes girl's life living hell just before 2 year marriage visa is due to run out, girl has to leave country and new boy trying to figure out what to do. So I'm the new boy. The girl is from Russia. The unpleasant tangled web leads me to urgently search for good legal advice on the combination of immigation and marriage. Any advice or recommended contacts? [more inside]
