I never changed my name after I got married, but I signed my name with my husband's last name on several legal documents. Now we're getting divorced, and my lawyer tells me that I have to request in my MDA that my name be restored to my maiden name. I live in Tennessee. Help me understand this please!

A good friend and former employee is going through a tough divorce. I filled an affidavit testifying to her child care and parenting skills (we both worked at a private school). Her husband's responding affidavit accused me (falsely!) of drunken altercations with the local police. Should I be worried? Should I respond?

[Child of Divorce Filter]. I have discovered I have the ability to view a 400+ page set of documents that are the sum of my parents' bitter legal divorce. On one hand, I hope it may shed some insight for me on people I never really knew. On the other hand, I fear doing this may cause a lot more emotional baggage than it will be worth. What do you think?

I want to get a divorce I'm in the UK:
Do I need to involve a solicitor? is this something I could do on my own? If it is something I can do myself, how can I go about starting it?
My wife is not overly keen on us getting a divorce, though I'm pretty sure she'd NOT put up much of a struggle once the thing got started.
