Can I go scuba diving with extreme fish allergies? So, I'm taking a scuba diving class in a pool, mostly to get over my deep water fears. Now I'm thinking about getting my open water certification but I had some concerns. I have extreme fish allergies. Meaning if a fish bites me, touches me, or stings me it could cause me to have an anaphylaxis reaction (trouble breathing). That all given, can I go diving without troubles? Will I need special gear?

I went scuba diving for the first time today-- I´m in Mexico, so it was at a resort. They gave us a pool training session and then took us out on the boat-- I believe our final dive was at 45 meters.
The trouble is, I had a hard time equalizing my ears on the descent, and at the bottom I still wasn´t entirely comfortable pressure-wise. I kept going though (maybe unwisely) and felt ok for the duration.

Say a very light, very healthy person took a dive from some stupidly high altitude, and spread themselves out into a skydiving position so that they just reached their minimum terminal velocity.
Would it be at all possible that this person could survive the drop if they landed in the sea, assuming they quickly rearranged themselves into a more streamlined diving position just before impact?

I'd like to get some recommendations on travelling to Belize. I'm planning my first out-of-country trip ever from the US to Belize. I have never travelled outside of the country before and need some pointers on international travel in general and travelling to Belize specifically. I would like to stay on Caye Caulker and visit the
Great Blue Hole and a couple of cave systems. I'm perfectly happy lounging by the sea in a hammock with an umbrella drink, but I'd also like to do something fun or exciting I can only do in Belize.

RedGreenShowFilter: I've got a bunch of crisp paperback romance novels I've scavenged from dumpsters around town, and I'd rather turn them into something than read or try selling them. What can I
build using them? I'm thinking clear box tape instead of duct, so the corny covers will still be visible. Bonus points for something handy.

Are Force Fin-brand "
slim fins" just as good for recreational SCUBA diving and snorkeling as the standard "
original/dive" model? I like all the adjustable options of the slim fin, but I am wondering why every vendor - not just the examples on Amazon - show the more customizeably and sturdier looking slim fin as being $10-$20 less expensive than the original/dive model.

I'm exceedingly susceptible to seasickness. I'm an avid scuba diver, and I'm now learning how to sail. Both activities put me in smallish boats, and if there's any chop, it's only a matter of time before I am leaning over the side. I don't want my inner ears to keep me from doing things that I enjoy. Please share your tips on keeping your inner ears happy and your lunch down.
