How does Disney deal with bad behavior in the parks?

Please explain Disney World's new Fast Pass + to a former expert

We are visiting family in Orlando next week and would like to go to the Magic Kingdom and maybe Epcot. I have been to the MK at least a dozen times and used to know it like the back of my hand - I was a zen master of showing up early, grabbing fast passes on a need-to-ride basis, and basically winging it so we never felt rushed. This will be my first trip since they initiated the new FastPass+ system, and the more I read about how it works, the more discombobulated I get. [more inside]

Disney World / Orlando Studios / Quiet-ish Beach vacation advice

I'm super bad at planning travel stuff and I'm trying to take a vacation with my girlfriend at the end of December. We'd like to do 3 nights at a quiet-ish beach within reasonable driving distance of Disney World and Universal Studios (because Harry Potter) in Orlando, and 4 nights doing both of those theme parks. First time Disney planner here, and I don't know anything about Florida beaches really. [more inside]

Touring Plans, Disney World-MK 2day plan for junior pirates - thoughts?

We are off to Disney World, Orlando in just a couple of weeks. We have a 3 day pass with the water park + more option. We are 2 adults, a 5.5 yr old who will hit the height threshold, and a 9.5 year. We haven’t travelled there before. We are planning on visiting MK for 2 days, and leaning towards the zoo for the 3rd day. We want to see both water parks and the arcade. We are planning on following Touring Plan’s Magic Kingdom Two-Day Touring Plan for Junior Pirates and Adventures Ages 4-8. [more inside]

Advice on getting out of the rut of Disney World vacations

My wife and I went on honeymoon to Disney World, then with the kids, then without the grown kids. I can't tell you how many times we've gone over the years, at least 15. Obviously we love the place, but we are wondering if folks could suggest other venues with some of the same advantages and attractions so we could mix it up a bit and not go every other year. Details within. [more inside]

What to do in Fort Walton Beach

My bf and I just found out that his family vacation in Fort Walton Beach has been canceled, but we have plane tickets that we'd rather not have to pay to change. We will be there Aug. 4-10, and are looking for suggestions for things to keep us busy. The beach is the obvious one, but do you know of any other cool activities nearby? Disney World is a six-hour drive, so we're considering renting a car and heading over there for a few days, but we'd love other ideas. [more inside]

Around the Disney World in Less than a Month

Last-minute vacation madness: my sister in DC just asked me to plan a vacation to Disney World for my 6-year-old niece during this year's winter holidays. She'd like 3-5 days, either before or after Christmas. Today is already December 8. Is this perfectly doable, or difficult/expensive but worth it, or not recommended? If we go ahead at this late date, what can we do to get the most out of the trip? [more inside]

Double-size Beds at Disney World?!

My wife and I want to stay at Disney World (Florida) with our 8-year old granddaughter. I'm almost 6-foot, 5-inches tall and I don't want a double-size bed, which seems to be what Disney wants families to sleep in. While there are rooms with king-size beds, they are only for two people. Our travel agent called them and was told that their Coronado Springs hotel is only one where we can get a room with two queen-size beds. Quite frankly, the Southwestern theme doesn't appeal to us, and we think our young granddaughter won't find it very charming at all. So, we're looking for suggestions or alternatives. We'd like to stay on the Disney property to avoid having to rent a car. Even more important than that, we want to stay at a hotel where we can get to/from the hotel quickly and easily, without having to wait for crowded shuttles or buses.
