Help me have a socially and physically active time in Singapore

Working in Singapore for 3 weeks in February. Staying at the Regent hotel near Orchard Road. Where to go to find a coffee shop to relax and read a book? Where to eat a casual dinner without feeling awkward about being alone? Where to find a yoga class? A rock climbing gym? Where to have a cocktail? Also, a hostel or cheap but not sketchy hotel/bed and breakfast recommendation for one night? [more inside]

What town should we stay in on the Big Island?

We'll be spending spring break on the big island. Our group is two families - 4 adults, 4 teenaged kids. I've found a couple posts with lots of great suggestions of places to visit on the island but need suggestions of where to stay. We'd prefer to rent a house or condo and plan to stay in one place the entire week, though we'll take day trips. It needs to be easy walking distance from a beach for swimming and snorkeling and have at least a few places we can walk to for meals and exploring. We prefer small town charm to sprawling resort complexes. Suggestions, please!

Early for table reservation?

If you arrive early for a table reservation, is there a chance you can get the table then, or do you necessarily have to wait? In other words, have you booked a particular table which, if free, could be given to you? Is showing up early by 10 or 20 minutes rude or preferred? [more inside]

Tell me where to eat in Paris.

Where should we eat in Paris? My fiancé and I are heading to Paris for our honeymoon in October. We like eating out and we're looking for awesome dining experiences. We tend to enjoy places that are delicious but unpretentious. We don't like "scenes". We really like, but certainly aren't limited to, gastropubs. [more inside]

What can a vegetarian eat in the French Quarter of New Orleans?

Wheelchair-accessible hotspots in London?

My friend & housemate has a big birthday weekend planned (London, Thursday – Monday). There's an itinerary, filled with lots of amazing things (spa days, aquarium, shows, etc.), but in the event that some of these places aren't wheelchair accessible, we need some back up events planned. What are some great places to go/see/party in London that are definitely wheelchair accessible, relatively easy to get to, and would be able to host a party of 3-8 people at the last minute with minimal hassle all around? Nice dinner in Albuquerque?

Thinwoman and I are in Albuquerque for the evening, and we'd like to get a nice meal. We've never been here before. Where should we eat? (It is our anniversary, so while I'm sure a green chili burger is super fine, we're hoping for something a little fancier. Unless green chili burgers are real fancy burgers. What do I know.)

Where are the gourmet Chinese restaurants?

Why are there so many Chinese restaurants in America that serve really cheap, low quality food, compared to, say, Thai restaurants, which seem to always have fresher ingredients? I've seen what really good, genuine Chinese food looks like from shows like Iron Chef, and I'd love to try some, but every restaurant I eat at always seems like they serve reheated food out of vats. How can you find the good Chinese restaurants in your town? I know they must be out there.

My idea of just giving everyone beanbags was ignored.

What kind of table do I want and where can I get it? We've been unhappy with our dining table for some time now, it's too big (tall), it scratches easy, and seems to require near constant care because it's also serving as two people's work table. I'm looking for a small informal table that can work easily as a dining table and a work desk. Is there a name for the kind of table I want and where can I find it in the NYC area. Details follow. Where to eat when everything's closed for the holidays (Torrance, CA)

I'm looking for good dining out options for treating a friend to brunch, around 11:00am on December 25, in the general vicinity of Torrance, CA (or between Torrance and LAX). I'm sure there's tons of good places, but I need someplace that'll be open Christmas morning. Know of any?

Dinner recommendations in Towson MD?

Mrs COD and myself will be in Towson MD Friday night for a concert. (Rechert Theater for you locals). Since we live on the south side of the DC area, the plan to beat traffic is to head up Friday afternoon and find someplace for dinner before the concert. I'm not looking to spend a lot of money on dinner...$30-$40 for dinner for 2 is about the right range. Any recommendations in the area? A local brewpub with good food would be ideal. I'm not completely opposed to the idea of dining in the Inner Harbor area, but traffic and parking hassles don't make it my first choice. Thanks!
