I'm trying to set up my Nikon 990 Coolpix camera as a dedicated image camera on a PC. I'm not able to download images via USB and wondering how I could get this to work. I need to take a boatload of images and get them into a PC quickly and easily. I have this camera available as a utility camera that can be permanently utilized in this role if I can get it to work on a PC.

Is there a 35mm film camera that also has an LCD? My mother likes the idea of looking at an LCD instead of using the view finder, but doesn't want to depart from the world of 35mm film!
She just needs a point-and-shoot, nothing fancy (under ~$150).
Does such a hybrid camera exist?

Are there reasons to buy a new camera from a retail outlet like

I'm going to replace my overheating, broken screen hinge laptop with a desktop and monitor, but I know nothing about gigs and ram and video cards. DigitalCameraFilter: I am trying to find a small, discreet point-n-shoot camera that I can use on the subway to take pictures of my fellow-passengers (think
Walker Evans - Many Are Called). Trying to find something that is: small (fits in pocket), quiet, sharp, can disable the rear lcd, and has minimal shutter lag. Good high-iso performance also a plus. Zoom not necessary.

How can I save JPG images in Photoshop CS so that a digital camera can read them? Cheap crappy software can do this easily, but no matter what file settings I use in Photoshop, I've never been able to get any of my digital cameras to be able to read any JPG that was written by Photoshop - I have to load and re-save them with other piece of software to get them to work. Surely there is a way to make Photoshop save JPG files that cameras can read?

My too-expensive Canon digital camera has developed the dreaded "E18" error. Anybody here ever successfully get their camera working again after this happened? Google suggests that Canon charges a lot of money to fix it and takes too long to do so. I have already visited www.e18error.com but would like first-hand reports, if any, of fixing it yourself.
