My friends and I would like to observe the switch-off of analog TV. The FCC has mandated that all analog TV stations stop on February 19, 2009. I'm planning to procure a bunny-eared TV to watch the signal go dead. Can anyone help me pinpoint when this moment is going to be? (This is going to be SO much better than New Year's)

I'm trying to find the best/simplest wireless
solution for playing music/streams from my PC through my home stereo. Currently, I'm doing it the wired way: headphone line out (from laptop) to auxiliary input (using a cable that is adapted to rca plugs) on my Kenwood receiver. I'd like to buy a wireless solution and need advice on where I can find something that is both functional and affordable. I don't need anything fancier than what will work for streaming the PC output.

Really small TVs & digital conversion - For many years, I have had a really small Sanyo TV (Model TMP 2175). It has AM/FM, a clock and a real small black & white 2 inch diagonal screen. My favorite feature of this little gizmo is that you can set an alarm so the TV turns on for about an hour - I've found this a very effective morning alarm...TV sound blares on, screen shines enough in my eyes to wake me up. . How can I make this thing work when things go digital? [more inside]

I want to get my dad a watch for the holidays. I've tried before, but he always goes back to his plastic women's Ironman digital. Any suggestions for a thin, smallish, digital but still fashionable watch for everyday, casual wear? It doesn't need tons of functions -- time and alarm. Stopwatch would be a bonus but not necessary.

I'm interested in printing a few of my wife's digital photographs as a gift to her.
I don't know a thing about photography (my wife is the expert), so I'm looking for some advice.
Here's some details:
I have the original hi-res versions (she uses a Nikon D70, so I think the files are large jpegs).
I'm interested in pretty large prints - probably around 24" x 18".
I'm not too concerned about cost - my priorities are the highest possible quality, and longevity. Ideally, I'd love to use someone local (Boston, MA).
Can anyone recommend a printer? What specifically should I ask for? (Types of printing, types of paper, etc.).
Many thanks in advance!

I am looking to buy 2 1T drives. I'm doing some final cut work but mostly for media storage. I'm looking at the Western Digital 1 TB My Book Premium Edition II Triple Interface ($236) and the G-Tech Q drive which retail at $445. That's almost twice the price of the western digital.

I'm heading off to college in a few months and I'm absolutely overwhelmed by the myriad of point-and-shoot cameras on the market.
I ran through some pictures (well, actually many pictures) on Flickr to try and get a feel for what I was looking for, but some pictures are naturally more appealing than others and the quality is affected by various factors, so I ruled that method out as an objective option.
I'm pretty sure more megapixels isn't always more quality and that there are other factors to account for, such as noise and shutter speed, but I'm at a loss at what really matters in a digital camera.
I hope I don't sound completely uninformed, but I've scoured previous topics and while they're very helpful, they're a little outdated. I would really appreciate recommendations on a compact/ultracompact camera that takes pretty pictures! I'm willing to spend up to 300, but hopefully no more than that :)
Thoughts? Suggestions? Jeers? :(

I need recommendations for a digital video recorder designed for multiple video inputs, including sound, (four cameras point at an animal enclosure at a zoo) that's designed to allow for easy access to the videos recorded. Networkable would be really great, or standard removable storage (USB/SATA). I'd prefer it if the device recorded directly in a standard video format so no conversion from a proprietary format is needed.
