I have a lot of digital music files in a lot of different formats. MP3, m4a, AAC, FLAC. I currently use iTunes and I mostly dislike it. I need to start over and find a solution for organizing and playing my 500(?) GB of music. [more inside]
Finally signed up for iTunes Match, enabled it on my 32gb phone and now music is downloading to my phone. It's eaten all my remaining space and when I deleted 2 gbs, MORE music started downloading to my phone to fill up the remaining space. How do I get this to stop and make the music (via song or album)available for download, without actually downloading it? NOTE: I do not have Apple music, just iTunes Match. [more inside]
The bottom has basically fallen out of the music journalism market, and I'd like to do my part to keep great longform music writing alive by starting an e-book series where some of those critics and thinkers can do their thing. I have no experience in book publishing, though, and I don't know yet how digital book publishing works, aside from the fact that you can self-publish on Kindle. Help me get my bearings. I want to read scholarly work about why doing things with "digital" tools (like word processors or MIDI music keyboards) is experienced differently from doing things with "analog" tools (like typewriters or pianos). [more inside]
Help me search for the way to fix it so that the pattern I hear in Liquid Rhythm gets played on roughly the 'right' drums when I export midi into Addictive Drums. At the moment importing Midi into AD from LR results in stuff played at the right time on unexpected drums. What is fixing this problem called so I can search for a solution? [more inside]
What's the best approach to digital music publishing? The only approach I have used thus far is CDBaby, but that requires physical product and UPS codes, right? [more inside]
I have a lot of duplicate music and photos on my hard drive - and this is making sorting them out difficult. Is there a good programme out there that will help me out with this? [more inside]
I think it's possible to put digital music onto vinyl albums at home with some device I saw advertised somewhere. But will doing this produce an anologue sound or a digital sound? Will it sound as rich as if the album had originally been on vinyl or will it sound emptier the way digital music does? I guess I'm basically asking if it's worth doing. I don't know technical stuff about stuff, so I hope my question makes sense!
How do I coordinate my disparate digital music collection? [more inside]
I'm using Mp3tag to add cover art to many music files that I have already imported into iTunes. Is there any way to get iTunes to recognize that new cover art without deleting the music files from the iTunes library and then re-importing them?

Do artists listed in the iTunes Store get to adjust the prices of their own music? If so, how? I don't really know what to search for and my usual google-fu is leaving me empty-handed. [more inside]

Recommend some music like Bon Iver's Woods, Imogen Heap's Hide and Seek, Beardyman, and some of Jamie Lidell - which feature nothing (or very little) but the human voice modified by electronics. Augmented acapellas, if you will.

I'm looking for music that features really good stutter processing of vocal sounds (any really good stuttering of other sounds is welcome too, but I'm especially interested in vocals). Benchmark tracks would be Trentemoller's Moan, Modeselektor's 2000007, Funkstörung's Fat Camp Feva, Ellen Allien's Sehnsucht, and Look at Me by Villeneuve. [more inside]

Want small digital camcorder, under $1000, that allows editing on Mac and will be used for filming around London.
I want to buy a small, Mac-compatible digital camcorder. My budget is under $1000. I will be using the camera to shoot videos that I will project when I play gigs with my band. I will probably also use it to film other people's gigs. [more inside]

I'm looking for a sample pack of all of the words/letters/numbers/phonemes from a Speak n' Spell (and/or derivatives). I'm not looking for crazy circuit bent samples... just something I can piece together words/phrases out of. Surely someone has done this. [more inside]

I've been a DJ for many years...but only in the last two have I really embraced CD's...and still carry a huge chunk of vinyl to every gig. Now the club I am at is going completely digital - and its worse than just CD's...I need advice...theres more once you get past the doormen... [more inside]
I recently went to a concert and bought a special package that included digital recordings of a few songs. The format is .asf but I run a Mac, 10.2.8. Windows Media Player isn't playing the files. What's my option now?
