Why does higher blood sugar feel more healthy?It's been 2 years since it got stabilized.

Why would my dad feel worse after getting his Type II diabetes elevated blood sugar under control? It doesn't seem to be an adjustment-period thing - he's been in the proper range for almost two years and still feels far worse than he did with high sugar. [more inside]
