I have an old, large blackhead on my back that resists my attempts to remove it by squeezing (due to its position). I asked my dermatologist to remove it and he said "have your wife squeeze it out." He gave me no clue as to why he wouldn't do it. I was not about to ask my wife to do this yucky thing. OK, so who do you go to to get this done?

I seem to have a perpetual set of quite small, flesh-colored or slightly red, acne-like bumps on my forehead. These are not too obvious (though they show when I tilt my forehead in the light as imperfections in the skin), and don't look grotesque or anything. They are not pus-filled nor do they hurt when touched. How do I make them go away? Daily face-washing doesn't do much, and the one time I had a facial didn't really help either.

I still have periodic acne breakouts at the age of 24, and now that I have health insurance I want to see a dermatologist. However, there's a million of them in NYC, and I don't have the time to shop around, so I'm considering going with NYC's most heavily advertised doctor, Dr. Zizmor. Is this a bad idea? Have you or anyone you know ever said, "Thanks, Dr. Zizmor?" [more inside]

First I had a really bad case of scabies on my hands and feet. Then, I got a really, really bad sunburn on the entire back side of my body (damn you, tanning salon!). Now, I have been diagnosed with dermatographia- and it's been here for about three weeks. Doc says it's not serious, but I'm still curious how on earth I got it and whether or not it will ever go away.

I had a staph infection – and though it has healed, it has left a dark spot. Unfortunately, that spot happens to be under my eye. I would like to talk to a professional about making this fade as quickly as possible. Would a dermatologist be the best person to see about this? If so, can you recommend a good dermatologist in Austin (Google Groups didn’t return any current/pertinent results)? [more inside]

I am a healthy guy who caught Molluscum Contagiosum from a sexual partner. I have gone to a dermatologist many times about the virus and he has given me Aldara as treatment. It seemed to work all right at first, but I just keep getting them and am looking for alternatives to Aldara. I have had them frozen off, but doing that tends to leave scars. I only seem to have them on my stomach an a couple on my inner thigh. I've read about some other treatments that I found on Google, but I would rather hear about how someone else treated it. I'm getting really frustrated by it (and so is my girlfriend). I would like to get rid of them once and for all.

Eczema. I get it on my face and sometimes behind my knees, and I generally treat it with prescription cortisone cream from my dermatologist. Lately, though, it's not working so well, and it occurs to me that maybe slathering myself with this stuff isn't such a good idea in the long term. Do any mefites have recommendations for nonprescription or herbal remedies? (The signal-to-noise ratio on Google is darn near impenetrable on this topic.)
