I moved into a house with some friends in Los Angeles California, we all split the deposit (shared was $700 each), things got weird and I moved out with the person moving into my room agreeing to pay my share of the deposit. I lived in a pretty crummy apartment for about three months with six other people. It was a pretty informal situation, no lease, people move in and people move out.
